  • 11:1411:14, 9 September 2024 diff hist +23 Numerus clausus (law) Different European states show different doctrines. Many European states employ numerus clausus (of some kind) but the number of property rights, and the lists, differ widely. Some countries don't, such as France (see the reference), or Spain (I didn't notice Spanish law discussed in the reference). Should we remove the section on Europe? Or make it much, much more detailed?

In Latin, the vowel is long ([sik]); in English, a shorter vowel is used ([sɪk]). The IPA help link needs to align to the actual IPA symbols offered, wrt language - either way.

Chicago is sometimes described as a variant of rubber bridge, but it's scored closer to duplicate bridge. 2) Where I live, and wherever I web search, honor scoring is no longer ever seen in any form of bridge, but ACBL rules still imply its use even for Chicago so I'm covering it as optional in rubber and Chicago.

(Chapter 1 of the cited book supports each clause separately, but not the controversial connective between them. Controversial because: The intentions cannot equal the means. Facts cannot equal, or even just imply, any definitions.)

(And it uses another term "decade" = 10 years which was adding to the confusion.) Tag: Reverted

Czech orthography employs a loosely related trichotomy (soft;hard;ambiguous/ambivalent) but it's not that strictly aligned to the place or manner of articulation. (I've got an MSc in phonetics from Prague so I think I'd know if there was any additional usage.)

And although Q is incomplete, it does not have much to do with PA - except possibly the fact that even PA is incomplete, but then we don't need to know that Q is strictly weaker.
