"unravel" is the first solo single by Tōru "TK" Kitajima, from the band Ling tosite Sigure. "unravel" was released on July 23, 2014 by Sony Music Entertainment Japan.[1]

Background

"unravel" is used as the opening theme for the anime series Tokyo Ghoul.[2] When the song was released on Spotify, the song has been streamed more than 11.6 million times in just nine months. The song is so popular among international audience that its number of monthly listeners in the U.S. is bigger than in Japan.[3]

Mary's Blood recorded a heavy metal version of the song for their 2020 cover album Re>Animator.[4]
