Rashid Khan Arman (Template:Lang-ps; born 20 September 1998), commonly known as Rashid Khan, is an international Afghan cricketer who plays for both limited over formats.[2] Considered as one of the best leg spinner to play the game currently, Rashid played 2017 IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad as well. He is the record holder for the best bowling figures by an associate nation in ODI history.[3][4]

Domestic career

Rashid Khan was born in 1998 in Nangarhar, eastern Afghanistan.[5] He grew up idolising Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi, and stylised his bowling action from him.[1][6][7][5] On 7 December 2016 he made his first-class debut for Afghanistan against England Lions in Abu Dhabi, taking 4 for 48 and 8 for 74 and scoring 25 not out and 52.[8]

In February 2017, he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL) for 4 crores.[9][10] He was also amongst the two first ever Afghan players to be selected for the IPL.[11] The following month, he was bought by Guyana Amazon Warriors for $60,000 to play in the 2017 Caribbean Premier League.[12]

He made his One Day International debut for Afghanistan against Zimbabwe on 18 October 2015.[14] He made his Twenty20 International debut, also against Zimbabwe, on 26 October 2015.[15]
