Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Uncontroversial technical requests
- History of A.S. Roma (currently a redirect to History of AS Roma) → History of AS Roma (move · discuss) – To be consistent with the main article at AS Roma. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:23, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Stereo Mind Game (album) (currently a redirect to Stereo Mind Game) → Stereo Mind Game (move · discuss) – no disambiguation needed 2A00:23EE:1510:6CAE:28D3:CAFF:FEAF:A064 (talk) 13:19, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Mizo people → Lushai (currently a redirect back to Mizo people) (move · discuss) – As most ethnic article titles use the English name I requested this change so as to increase recognizability and to shorten it. Sangsangaplaz (talk) 10:54, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
Contested technical requests
- Oliver Moore (ice hockey) (currently a redirect to Oliver Moore) → Oliver Moore (move · discuss) – Current page for 'Oliver Moore' is a redirect to a page called 'Oliver J. Moore'. Now, the ice hockey player has a page that garners significantly more views (352 vs 9 daily average since 6/20). Could be a case of recency bias, but also believe the ice hockey player could have the base, non-disambiguated page with a hatnote to the 'Oliver J. Moore' page. - This is certainly not uncontroversial. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:20, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Ździary (currently a redirect to Zdziary) → Zdziary (move · discuss) – village name changed in 2013. Paradygmaty (talk) 18:15, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Paradygmaty: A simple Google search for the two terms shows the current title returns for results, making the status quo align with WP:COMMONNAME. This is a WP:PCM. If you wish to continue with your request, click the discuss link in your request to begin a formal WP:RM discussion. Once you've done that, or if you do not wish to continue, please remove your request. Thanks! - UtherSRG (talk) 18:54, 3 July 2023 (UTC) re-signing to fix ping UtherSRG (talk) 23:29, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
- Support this really doesn't need a RM, see Polish wp: Konrad Sinica: Od 1 stycznia Zdziary bez „Ź”. The name changed. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:00, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Sweet Nothing (currently a redirect to Sweet Nothings) → Sweet Nothing (Calvin Harris song) (move · discuss) – There have been three more songs titled "Sweet Nothing" (the Taylor Swift song and the Gabrielle Aplin song), so the Calvin Harris song is no longer WP:PRIMARYTOPIC Ippantekina (talk) 04:41, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Ippantekina: This article has had multiple past RMs; a move here is by definition not uncontroversial. However, I think this would pass an RM (I'd support it, at least). Skarmory (talk • contribs) 04:49, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Skarmory: sorry, I didn't notice the Controversial RM section. Yes, I started a RM at the talk page of Sweet Nothing accordingly. Ippantekina (talk) 07:36, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
