Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Uncontroversial technical requests
- UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs. Nurmagomedov (currently a redirect to UFC on ABC: Sandhagen vs. Nurmagomedov) → UFC Fight Night 225 (currently a redirect instead to UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs. The Korean Zombie) (move · discuss) – No longer the name of the event due to cancellation. Event name should revert back to generic numbered fight night until new main event is official. Sdpdude9 (talk) 19:51, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
- Boogiepop series (currently a redirect to Boogiepop) → Boogiepop (move · discuss) – Unnecessary use of the word series, and official sources use the single word title anyway. Additionally, consistency with other light novel series title of same situation (ex. Haruhi Suzumiya). GinawaSaHapon (talk) 06:08, 21 July 2023 (UTC) GinawaSaHapon (talk) 06:08, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
- Dancer's delight (currently a redirect to Dancer's Delight) → Dancer's Delight (move · discuss) – Error on my part; I thought this was a traditional folk dance subject to MOS:DANCECAPS, but it's actually a modern one of known authorship, so it should remain capitalised. My bad; I was moving fast and not paying enough attention. I would just move it back, but I already edited the post-move redirect that is presently at Dancer's Delight. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 09:19, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
Contested technical requests
- Killing of Richard Challen → Sally Challen (currently a redirect back to Killing of Richard Challen) (move · discuss) – The article is mostly about Sally Challen and her appeals. This was the focus of most coverage of this case, while the killing itself seemed to receive relatively little coverage. 2601:640:C885:4CA0:E8A0:F360:A657:C86D (talk) 23:08, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
- Not uncontroversial, due to WP:BIO1E. — BarrelProof (talk) 02:18, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
- Mubarak Mosque, Tilford → Islamabad, Tilford (move · discuss) – The article can be expanded a lot more if the it covers the entirety of Islamabad, rather than just the Mosque HolyArtThou (talk) 23:47, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
- @HolyArtThou: Fixed request to state that the article to be moved is Mubarak Mosque (Tilford), not Mubarak Mosque. However, is there any reason you can't develop an article out of the redirect at Islamabad, Tilford? Skarmory (talk • contribs) 00:06, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
- @HolyArtThou: This seems like a full change in subject, from an individual building, to the town the building is in. This is a WP:PCM. If you wish to continue with your request, click the discuss link in your request to begin a formal WP:RM discussion. Once you've done that, or if you do not wish to continue, please remove your request. Thanks! - UtherSRG (talk) 11:56, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
- @UtherSRG: Islamabad seems to be a religious campus, including a mosque, in the village of Tilford. rather than a town. As the move has been disputed a RM makes sense. TSventon (talk) 12:27, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
- Seems the template needed to be updated ... again ... since the article was moved elsewhere. (See this move by Necrothesp.) Steel1943 (talk) 20:47, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
