Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Requests to revert undiscussed moves
- Umm al-Qura Mosque → Umm al-Ma'arik Mosque (currently a redirect back to Umm al-Qura Mosque) (move · discuss) – The user Hashim-afc moved this article without any disucssion, claiming "Umm al-Ma'arik is the old name. Umm al-Qura is both the official current name and WP:POPULARNAME", which doesn't exist. OsamusBLQ (talk) 23:02, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
Contested technical requests
- New Parliament House, New Delhi (currently a redirect to Parliament House, New Delhi) → Parliament House, New Delhi (move · discuss) – A page with name Old Parliament House, New Delhi exists, when the New Parliament house is the present Parliament house which is being used as the Parliament of India, the usage of New may be removed as it is current one anyways and an old parliament house article exists to indicate that it is the old one. - @Thewikizoomer: The article was recently moved without discussion to the title you propose (except with lowercase "house"), but the move was reverted by another editor who disagreed. There was also a requested move in May. And Parliament House, New Delhi already exists as an article for the previous building, so the proposal would also need to include a request to move that, such as to Old Parliament House, New Delhi. This move is potentially controversial, so it would require a requested-move discussion, which you can begin by clicking "discuss" on your request. You can remove this request after opening a discussion (or if you do not want to continue). SilverLocust 💬 20:37, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
