Hello, I was previously granted NPP on probation and used it to review articles as suitable. I would appreciate if I could be granted the right permanently if an admin deems it fit. Thank you. – Isochrone (T) 16:55, 21 September 2023 (UTC)

I see that the backlog is rather large and there is an upcoming Backlog drive which I wish to participate in. I was a AfC reviewer and it was recommended to me that I should participate in other areas of Wikipedia for various reasons. OLIfanofmrtennant (she/her) Questions? 19:38, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
- (Non-administrator comment) The relevant threads are User talk:OlifanofmrTennant#About a draft you accepted and User talk:OlifanofmrTennant#Multiple messages received about your work as an AfC reviewer. OlifanofmrTennant, this is purely some friendly advice but NPR is a somewhat harder and more demanding perm than AfC, and given your removal from AfC I would highly recommend you work on AfDs and content writing first before NPP. Thanks. VickKiang (talk) 00:59, 24 September 2023 (UTC) Updated on 23:14, 27 September 2023 (UTC).
- (Non-administrator comment) OlifanofmrTennant, I second VickKiang here. NPP is demanding, more so than AfC. If you want to do maintenance work but are not ready for AfC/NPP yet please consider enrolling at the Countervandalism Unit Academy if you wish. #prodraxis connect 03:27, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

I was previously granted 1 month NPP (as the bot should tell you). During this time, I've admittedly done less than I hoped, but life has been busy and I think what I have done has been generally good. CLYDE TALK TO ME/STUFF DONE 05:50, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

I have a measurable experience with RFDs, AFDs, as well as CSDs. I would be a good person to help review pages, as well as to help the backlogging that exists at the moment. Thanks, Wikiexplorationandhelping (talk) 16:01, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- Not done. There seem to have been issues with some of your recent(ish) mainspace creations which suggest that you're not quite up to speed with all the relevant policies and expectations for new articles. I would suggest building some more experience at AfC and AfD and writing some nice clean articles on notable subjects if that's something you're interested in, then reapplying in a couple of months or so. - @FatalFit can you give examples of where you've reviewed articles? I see a lot of redirects in your curation log but there's ,uch less to assess there than with an article. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 12:20, 28 September 2023 (UTC)

The reasons for asking for this right is two-fold:
- In my developer capacity, I have recently been writing patches for the PageTriage extension, it will be nice to have access to the right on production so that I can test my changes and work on patches based on my personal experiences. (essentially to dog food it) (gerrit contributions to PageTriage, overall gerrit contributions phabricator profile)
- I would like to help clear out some of the backlog and potentially participate in the backlog drive that is set to happen in October 2023.
Wrt to my experience, I would like to echo what I mentioned during my AFC statement, I don't really have a lot of AFD participation and/or CSD stats like most of the others on the page, however I do believe I have a good grasp on the general notability guidelines and will try to do my best to ask around if I am unfamiliar with the subject matter or such. (My strengths tend to be general software/technology topics and Indian topics).
Sohom (talk) 08:26, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Sohom. Thank you for your work on PageTriage and offering to help with the backlog. I'm afraid we can't really take into account your dev activities here, though. We're just looking for whether you have sufficient knowledge and experience to review others' articles fairly and accurately.
- In that regard, your AfC record looks good, but you've only been doing it a month so there isn't a great deal to go on. Similarly you have a decent record in article creation yourself, but this is mostly recent (the majority of your 60 articles were created over two days this May) and many of them still have cleanup tags. As you say, you also have no real experience at AfD to speak of.
- Looking at your AfC reviews, there was one that caused me concern: Draft:Kala Krishnan Ramesh. You stated in a comment that
Interviews, self-written articles and book reviews are not reliable sources for the author
. But 1) interviews and the author's own writings can be reliable sources, they're just non-independent, primary ones that should be used with caution and don't count towards notability; and 2) reviews are not only reliable sources but our primary way of gauging the notability of authors. Please take another look at this draft; it looks like there is a reasonable case for notability there to me. - To be totally honest, I'd usually decline your request at this point, and ask you to spend some more time working at AfC first. However, since you are off to a good start there, and we do have a backlog drive coming up, I can offer you a one-month trial. Please go slowly to start with and make sure you familiarise yourself with relevant SNGs before reviewing any articles in those areas. After a month, you can come back here to request the extension of the right, if you're still interested in reviewing. Done for the bot, and thanks again for volunteering. – Joe (talk) 09:21, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you, I will take a look at Draft:Kala Krishnan Ramesh once more and try to assess it with WP:NAUTHOR in mind. I agree my phrasing of the comment was incorrect and I should have been explicit in the fact that the author's own writing are infact reliable but would not count towards notability.
- I will definitely familiarize myself with the various SNG guidelines before going forward and reviewing articles that might be related to the specific notability guidelines. Sohom (talk) 12:56, 25 September 2023 (UTC)

I have critically studied the process of new page reviewing and I understand the task involved. I have participated in new pages patrol and have gathered experience in CSD, AFD and PROD and I believe I could help in reviewing articles to help reduce growing backlogs. Noneate (talk) 09:21, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- Not done. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but you've only been active for a few months now. You have no content creation experience as far as I can see, and while you've been accurate at AfD, most of the recent votes have been pile-ons, so they're not that useful at demonstrating individualist understanding of inclusionary policy. I suggest helping out at WP:AFC for a bit to gain more experience. Anarchyte (talk) 12:22, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

Hi! I'm requesting this right because I want to grow as an editor from just adding content to also contributing to areas where there's a clear need and a consistent backlog. I'll organize my request around explaining why I satisfy all the criteria at Wikipedia:New_pages_patrol/Reviewers#Guidelines_for_granting. 1) I've been registered and active for well over 90 days, and have made slightly over over 10k live edits to mainspace. 2) I would name "policy-compliant content editing" as the main way that I demonstrate competence under part 2: I've created 316 mainspace articles, which lands me in the top ~2600 or so Wikipedians by articles created. Only one has been deleted: it was the second article I ever tried to write, and it went to AfD because I didn't yet know the consensus around how to interpret "significant press coverage" in WP:NPOL point 2. My articles typically receive good content ratings, with about half assessed at C or higher by the relevant WikiProjects, and fewer than 2 dozen out of >300 assessed as stubs. I've also participated in 4 GAs. One of them became an FA and netted me a Four Award, while another entitled me to a half-million award. I also have participated at AfD over the years. 3) I make a serious effort to always be civil, especially with new editors, and perusing my talk page archives might be a good way to verify this. I've also recently been trying to participate more at the Teahouse. 4) I've certainly done some page moves in my time. I've also had learning experiences from doing it the wrong way, in particular when I mis-judged whether or not a move would be uncontroversial per Wikipedia:Requested_moves#When_not_to_use_this_page (you can find this example in the edit history of Michel Rivard). After I was corrected, I went back and carefully re-read the relevant guidelines, and it has now been several years since I did a move that turned out to be too bold. 5) I've never been blocked. 6) I have only ever edited Wikipedia as a volunteer, and I will only ever edit Wikipedia as a volunteer. Thanks for considering my request! Astrophobe (talk) 16:44, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- Done for a one-month trial; you should be fine if you've written an FA but I still wouldn't mind double-checking after a month. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 12:25, 28 September 2023 (UTC)

I have been editing Wikipedia for around 6 years now, and have been more actively editing for the past year. I enjoy writing my own articles, as well as expanding upon articles from time-to-time, having made over 4,000 edits to Wikipedia and having created over 100 pages. However, I would love to help in the PageTriage by giving feedback and reviewing articles and helping clear out the backlog.
I have done similar review in a more "unofficial" way, I guess. I often go through the "Random article" button for long periods of time and see what feedback or constructive edits I can add or "needed" banner notices that I can contribute to help improve or increase the chance of improvement on an article.
Please consider me for the permissions of new page reviewer. Thank you for your time, EytanMelech (talk) 17:44, 26 September 2023 (UTC) EytanMelech (talk) 17:44, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

I have created 5 articles and been a Wikipedia user for 4 years now. I find the permission would allow me to contribute to eliminating the backlog of new articles and contribute more to AfC, through which I created the article that led to my first GA. I figure I'll give this request a shot and see how it does. I've been patrolling the new pages feed for a while now, improving or tagging articles as needed. I think I have a good grasp on notability now, and would like to participate in the upcoming NPP backlog drive. I'm requesting a trial period for that duration, if that's alright. Deauthorized.
