Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

- Kye Rowan (currently a redirect to Non-binary flag) → Non-binary flag (move · discuss) – The page author agreed that it should be moved and changed the article to Non-binary flag, as it mostly discusses about the flag and little about the designer. The item should also be changed, to follow the pattern of other pride flag pages (e.g. transgender flag, bisexual flag). Formigable (talk) 16:37, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- Note that the Kye Rowan article is also the subject of a current merge request, which would complicate this process. I think the page move requested here is the better option. See also the discussion at Talk:Kye Rowan. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 19:24, 20 October 2023 (UTC)

- Forbes list of highest-earning musicians (currently a redirect to Forbes list of the world's highest-paid musicians) → Forbes list of highest-paid musicians (currently a redirect instead to Forbes list of the world's highest-paid musicians) (move · discuss) – Consistency with the rest of Forbes articles such as Forbes list of highest-paid dead celebrities, Forbes list of the world's highest-paid athletes, List of highest-paid film actors. Bluesatellite (talk) 12:04, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- Contesting this. The list is literally described by Forbes as the highest earning musicians.[1] I also don't think that's synonymous with being "paid". The latter suggests income from employment of direct activities, earnings might include dividends, interest, and other bits and bobs. Cheers — Amakuru (talk) 12:51, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Amakuru: It's actually the just the same thing per Forbes, that it is based on pretax annual earnings. Forbes literally used the title "highest-paid musicians" in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, but used "top-earning musicians" in 2010 or 2019. When I created this article, I did get confused of which title I should use. But on the second thought, I realized that it's inconsistent with any other Forbes articles in Wikipedia (athlete, actors, celebrities etc). Regards. Bluesatellite (talk) 13:43, 20 October 2023 (UTC)

- Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist (Cleveland, Ohio) → Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist (Cleveland) (currently a redirect back to Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist (Cleveland, Ohio)) (move · discuss) – Per naming conventions Mvcg66b3r (talk) 20:22, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
- If omitting the state from the DAB brackets is 'per naming conventions' could you link to the rule? A perusal of St. John's Cathedral#United States shows that many American churches don't seem to follow this, since they *do* include the state. My own preference would be to drop the state from the DAB brackets but this might lead to an argument. EdJohnston (talk) 14:47, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- Glancing at Template:Roman_Catholic_Diocese_of_Cleveland, quite a few seems to use "(Cleveland, Ohio)", not count redirects. -Kj cheetham (talk) 22:11, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
- This is definitely unneeded extra disambiguation. Make a multi-RM for the lot. Dicklyon (talk) 18:02, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
