New page reviewer

I was granted a temporary reviewer and I am requesting to make it permanent. Thank you. Ibjaja055 (talk) 22:09, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You've still got 12 days left to run of the trial (17 when you filed the request!); I don't see a reason to cut the trial short so I'm inclined to leave things as they are and re-evaluate when we're down to single figures. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:59, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@HJ Mitchell: The trial has now expired. SilverLocust 💬 12:58, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Joe Roe: Thank you very much for the opportunity. The trial has expired and I will like to request for a permanent one.

 Done. I took a look through your patrols and you seem to have a good grasp on the relevant policies and procedures. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:15, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

With over 7,000 new pages awaiting reviews as of this writing, I would like to leverage my 1.5 years of Wikipedia writing and editing expertise (mostly on C and B class articles) together with my fluency in English to lighten the load on the new page reviewer team. DuckieWackie (talk) 13:53, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Pangalau: I don't intend to process this request, but I do have a question/concern I guess. May I ask why your signature does not match your username? As reviewers, we often communicate with other editors, and I think it can be a bit confusing to the many new editors that we do have to deal with. Hey man im josh (talk) 11:50, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's just a name often used by my other accounts off Wikipedia and used to link to my other projects such as Flickr, also allowing my keep animosity. If it does stir confusion, I am willing to have it changed. Hope this clears the issue, thanks. DuckieWackie (talk) 12:11, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Pangalau User:DuckieWackie is not registered (m:Special:CentralAuth/DuckieWackie). You could register it and redirect the user page to your own (much as I own User:Harry Mitchell, for example). HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:18, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I realize there's a huge backlog in new pages awaiting review. While I haven't exactly created that many pages, nor have a I been particularly present at AfD, I have spent a good portion of time at RfD and I think I could help a great deal in reducing that backlog at the very least. I do also have a pretty good knowledge of WP:COPYVIO policies, spam, and all kinds of disruptive editing that could help reduce the remaining backlog. And for whatever its worth, I think I well satisfy the WP:NPRCRITERIA (particularly criterion #4, I'm quite experienced in the page moving process). estar8806 (talk) 04:17, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

 Done for a 2 month trial Hey man im josh (talk) 15:03, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My 1-month trial as a reviewer has recently expired, and I would like to continue reviewing pages to help clear the backlog of pages needing review. During my 30-day trial, I had reviewed nearly 150 pages, and I believe that I did a good job of tagging and sending feedback when needed. Thanks for your consideration. EytanMelech (talk) 14:07, 31 October 2023 (UTC) EytanMelech (talk) 14:07, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@EytanMelech I've been going over your curation log and there are a few errors that stand out. For example, you tagged several redirects for speedy deletion under a criterion only applicable to articles. Have you checked for mistakes and learnt from them? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:35, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I remember that mistake. That was due to something that I definitely misinterpreted, I got mixed up on what was a redirect under the presets I used to filter on the Special:NewPagesFeed and assumed they worked under the same criteria. I definitely learned from that mistake. EytanMelech (talk) 19:41, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
 Done for another three months. Feel free to ask on my talk page for a review when you've got a couple of weeks left. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:45, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I had initially applied for new page patroller rights on 5th October to contribute in new page backlog drive. Since I'm also taking part in this month's article for creation backlog drive, I'd like to have the permission be extended (which is going to expire on 05:30, 5 November 2023), thanks! Was given access to the tools in trial basis and particpiated in the October 2023 NPP backlog and received the Unnecessarily complicated Gears Award, the The Order of the Superior Scribe of Wikipedia, and the The Teamwork Barnstar. it seems my access was expired as I cannot see tools for page patrol any more FuzzyMagma (talk) 07:41, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have over eight-hundred edits and am very familiar with Wikipedia policies. As a member of the Guild of Copy Editors, I have extensive knowledge of the manual of style, particularly MOS:LAYOUT. I have created the page Jürgen Schumann and pretty much wrote The Chequers, Potters Bar from scratch. Being a new page reviewer would be a nice way to be able to help in one specific area of Wikipedia and apply my skills. I also view it as an intermediate step towards becoming a sysop in the future. I have already enabled the page curation tool and have used the NewPagesFeed before to help with new articles, even though I can't actually review them. Hello. Thanks for reading my application to be a new page reviewer. Some reasons why I would be a good user for the permissions are that I am familiar with Wikipedia's content policies and guidelines, as well as the deletion process. I have a consistent history of communicating effectively with other users, and I take pride in ensuring the utmost quality in my contributions here. When I make a mistake, I acknowledge it without hesitation and fix it. As is a common theme for requesting this permission, I too see the new page patrol backlog and feel like I want to help out with getting some of these reviewed. I have spent a fair bit of time finding vandalism and reverting such edits. While I may have not made that many articles, I always try to improve stub and start class articles when I see them. Thank you again for considering my request for the new page reviewer permission, I would not take this permission lightly, and I am committed to using it responsibly to help ensure the quality of new pages on Wikipedia. I was previously granted the rights temporarily, but they expired 4 November. During my time as a NPP reviewer, I had taken part in the October backlog drive: I was a valuable member where I demonstrated my knowledge of, and properly applied CSD criteria and notability, spam, copyvio and other principles at XfD. I have a history of not going beyond where I wasn't sure of the WP Policies, instead reaching out and conferring with more experienced editors so that I would understood how the policies applied and could proceed in future cases. Beyond that, I pride myself most on never biting, I always try to engage positively with good faith and inexperienced editors and article writers, trying to bring new articles up to mainspace standards to expand on the project. I would request permanent NPP reviewer privileges, but if you have any concerns I would be happy to address them. Thanks, microbiologyMarcus (petri dishgrowths) 14:06, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I was previously granted new page reviewer permissions for a 1 month trial period, and would like to request the permissions permanently. During my trial period I took things very very slowly, and I know that there's not much to judge me on (the 1 month mark really crept up on me), but the main reason that the log is short is that for every page I actually reviewed, I probably read ten other pages and didn't feel fully confident yet in what judgment I should make. One thing I did a lot of was to watchlist those pages and make sure I understood the rationale for whatever happened to them, and the ones that I did review are the pages for which I was very confident in my evaluation of them. I hope that so far I have been a very small net positive at new page review, and that with permanent permissions (or a longer trial period) I could gradually start moving more confidently and would become a bigger net positive. The reason for requesting new page reviewer rights is to help lighten the work load of reviewing to the new page reviewers. Ezra Cricket (talk) 19:19, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
