Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Uncontroversial technical requests
- Restoration ecology (currently a redirect to Ecological restoration) → Ecological restoration (move · discuss) – Much of the existing article is framed as a discussion of Ecological restoration (especially at the outset). Because "ecological restoration" (the practice) is likely a more commonly searched for / discussed term than "restoration ecology" (the study) it would be more useful to rename this article. Restoration ecology aspects discussed in the article should be retained as these speak to the theory behind the practice. TatjanaClimate (talk) 10:32, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
- EyeMail Inc. (currently a redirect to EyeMail) → EyeMail (move · discuss) – WP:NCCORP. Wikishovel (talk) 12:49, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

- Dashboard (visualization) (currently a redirect to Dashboard (computing)) → Dashboard (software) (currently a redirect instead to Dashboard (disambiguation)) (move · discuss) – Dashboard (software) is currently a redirect. This name would be more appropriate for Dashboard (visualization ) as it standardized it with Control panel (software) GeogSage (⚔Chat?⚔) 20:03, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
- The problem is that this would be incomplete disambiguation (WP:INCDAB), as other topics in Dashboard (disambiguation)#Computing and technology also consist of software. I think there should be some better disambiguator to use than this (or the previous Dashboard (business), which was underinclusive). On a side note, I have removed the extraneous space in the title you moved it to earlier, Dashboard (visualization ). SilverLocust 💬 21:02, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
- I've moved it to Dashboard (computing) as I think this is a topic that pervades all areas, not just business or visualisation. And while there are a few other computing usages listed on the disambiguation page, those are all just specific examples of dashboards, and I'd think not likely targets for the bare name Dashboard. And as a broad concept this seems to be the correct page to cover all that too. If this is to be discussed it should go back to its original name first, but I'd say let's stick with this. — Amakuru (talk) 06:52, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

- NoHo West → NOHO West (currently a redirect back to NoHo West) (move · discuss) – Official capitalization is "NOHO" not "NoHo" according to the official website Keizers (talk) 15:28, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
- We don't match all-caps stylisms, only initialisms. See MOS:ALLCAPS. "NoHo" (ie. North Hollywood) is correct here. 162 etc. (talk) 17:11, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
- George Warren Brown School of Social Work (currently a redirect to George Warren Brown School) → Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis (move) – the name of the school has changed due to changes in the programs offered, refer to their website to see this new name listed: https://brownschool.wustl.edu/ Vicvicand (talk) 19:38, 26 March 2024 (UTC)

- Median state (currently a redirect to Median kingdom) → Median kingdom (move · discuss) – The term "kingdom" is more common and natural as evidenced in the article itself. Mawer10 (talk) 21:38, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
- The two most common terms appear to be Median empire followed by the current name, Median state. And until recently, the current name held the absolute lead. (I guess the issue with both Median kingdom and Median empire is that neither was the name for the whole period this entity existed). Noting as well that the real name for this appears to be just Media, but that would require a disambiguator and it's hard to assess how common it is relative to the other terms. In any case I don't think this is uncontroversial. — Amakuru (talk) 07:36, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Amakuru: A search on Google Scholar shows that results for "Median state" do not always refer to the Median political entity, furthermore it is not very common to refer to political entities from the Ancient Era as "states". On the other hand, a search for "Median kingdom" always gives the correct results. "Median Empire" is also a valid title, I would support it too. Mawer10 (talk) 22:21, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- Looking at ngrams, other than a brief period of time from 2003-2007, Median empire seems to consistently be the more popular term, so I would support a move to that title as well. @Mawer10, if you want to pursue this further, please click on the "discuss" link in your submission above to open a discussion on the talk page. --Ahecht (TALK

- Boáz_Klartag → Bo'az_Klartag (currently a redirect back to Boáz Klartag) (move · discuss) – wrong spelling Gamesou (talk) 10:19, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- I can see three different spellings of his name in various sources from multiple countries: Boáz, Bo'az, and Boaz. Deciding which one is correct requires some more evidence. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 15:55, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
