If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- Delhi University → University of Delhi (currently a redirect back to Delhi University) (move · discuss) – Wikipedia says- "Delhi University (DU, ISO: Dillī Viśvavidyālaya), formally the University of Delhi" but in reality the name is and was always 'University of Delhi' as you can see at official Website of university - https://www.du.ac.in/ and you will not find any reference that says "University of Delhi is renamed as Delhi University". So please change wikipedia page title and mistake at wikipedia page. It is, it was always named 'University of Delhi'. 14.139.183.119 (talk) 21:23, 26 August 2024 (UTC)

Contested technical requests
- Metso → Metso (1990-2020) (move · discuss) – At its current form, opening up the wikipedia page of Metso, one could mistakenly think Metso is a company that no longer exists, which is not true. The main article under the name "Metso" should point to the currently existing major company. The historical company should be moved under a name with the years in the article name. 2800:200:E8D0:14A9:7EB8:8F37:9DF1:7A9 (talk) 02:19, 26 August 2024 (UTC)

- Chittagong → Chattogram (currently a redirect back to Chittagong) (move · discuss) – move the page from Chittagong to Chattogram as it is the official name by the government of Bangladesh and also locally used most and according to Google trends Chattogram is the most used name. Move is according to WP:COMMONNAME Therealbey (talk) 00:48, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Therealbey Given the move history of the article, this requires a discussion, not a unilateral request. – robertsky (talk) 08:18, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
- Brahmmavaram PS. Paridilo (currently a redirect to Brahmmavaram PS Paridhilo) → Brahmavaram PS Paridilo (currently a redirect instead to Brahmmavaram PS Paridhilo) (move · discuss) – Movie name according to the sources including imdb. Thewikizoomer (talk) 05:04, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
- The sources in the article have a double m in the first word and an h in the last. And IMDB is not a reliable source. Think a discussion might be needed... I have removed the dots though, per MOS:ACRO — Amakuru (talk) 06:45, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Thewikizoomer Moved to contested per Amakuru above. '''[[User:CanonNi]]''' (talk • contribs) 11:11, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
- Jatiya Party (Ershad) → Jatiya Party (move) – WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. officially it is known as "Jatiya Party" only, not "Jatiya Party (Ershad)". No or few reliable sources call it "Jatiya Party (Ershad)". When anyone talk about "Jatiya Party" they means Ershad's Jatiya Party. There are multiple parties named Jatiya Party but the oldest is Ershad's and this is the primary topic. I can not move it due to technical reasons. Mehedi Abedin 10:52, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
- Not so sure that this one is the primary topic. See the others at the Jatiya Party disambig page. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 14:53, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
- Pengiran Anak Hashim (currently a redirect to Pengiran Muda Hashim Abdul Rahman) → Pengiran Muda Hashim Abdul Rahman (move · discuss) – In accordance to the standardised naming of Bruneian nobility, the individual's title Pengiran Muda functioned similarly to Malaysian titles of Tengku and Tunku. The patronymic name should too be included to differentiate him to nobleman Pengiran Muda Hashim (died 1846) Pangalau (talk) 04:51, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
- I've done the other two, but suggest this should be discussed as the proposed name looks rather long-winded and not convinced it's the common name. If disambiguation is needed, somethign else might be preferable. — Amakuru (talk) 09:19, 25 August 2024 (UTC)

- Asif Ali Zardari → Asif Zardari (currently a redirect back to Asif Ali Zardari) (move · discuss) – According to the vast majority of sources in Google Books, his common name is Asif Zardari. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 17:04, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
- @SheriffIsInTown On hold for a couple of days, pending response from the admin who had protected the page. @Gimmetrow can you shed some light on the current protection for this page as you had protected the page in March 2009 with indefinite move-protection at the admin level? – robertsky (talk) 04:18, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- That being said, a search for both terms indicates that he is referred to by either names in an equal manner and Google Trends favours the longer search term even if it is ever so slightly. – robertsky (talk) 04:25, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- I will suggest having a discussion about this as the both name appears to be commonly used (example: Mohamed, Mohammed). Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 05:11, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Robertsky I was specifically talking about Google Books searches, where you mostly find high-quality scholarly sources. The longer version is rarely used in books. While news and web sources might use both versions equally, the shorter version is clearly more common in book sources. Additionally, most Pakistani TV news channels refer to him using the shorter version. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 10:34, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
