If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Uncontroversial technical requests
- Matthew Chizhov (currently a redirect to Matvey Chizhov) → Matvey Chizhov (move · discuss) – Unlike the contemporaneous master Fyodor Kamensky, Matvey Chizhov never worked in the US or the UK, so anglicizing his first name is certainly incorrect. Gleb95 (talk) 12:57, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- The request is valid, but I wanted to point out that a search of modern web content on the artist shows predominant use of "Matthew" by not-so-reliable commentators. A more thorough Google Books search shows that "Matvey" is used more often by experts and historians. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 15:48, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- Datu Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah College (currently a redirect to Kolej DPAH Abdillah) → Kolej Abdillah (currently a redirect instead to Kolej DPAH Abdillah) (move · discuss) – Kolej Abdillah is the common name of the subject and should be used per WP:COMMONNAME, plus, the current title is too precise per WP:PRECISION 2001:448A:5063:3D40:6453:22C9:E842:2FFD (talk) 03:43, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- I could be on board with changing to the native language version Kolej, since the English proper name appears to be made up by Wikipedia. But I'm not seeing very many sources calling it Kolej Abdillah. Where it's shortened in Web results and news sources, it looks like Kolej DPAH Abdillah is what's typically used. So suggest we maybe change to that. — Amakuru (talk) 06:08, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- Inner West & Leppington Line (currently a redirect to Leppington & Inner West Line) → Leppington & Inner West Line (move · discuss) – Line has been renamed per article and Transport for NSW Mounstreip (talk) 21:42, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- That's all well and good, but the conditions of WP:NAMECHANGES need to be met, in that a majority of sources should use the new name. In this case, it's not even clear that the official name has changed yet - TFNSW still use the present title in their main planning page for this line - [1] — Amakuru (talk) 06:37, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- Auyl People's Democratic Patriotic Party (currently a redirect to Auyl) → Auyl (move · discuss) – The party has rebranded and is now simply called Auyl or Auyl Party. Also WP:COMMONNAME, since the party has been known simply as Auyl since its founding. PLATEL (talk) 08:42, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- Shunga empire (currently a redirect to Shunga Empire) → Sunga dynasty (currently a redirect instead to Shunga Empire) (move · discuss) – "Sunga dynasty" is by far the WP:COMMONNAME rather than "empire"; see ngram. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 20:30, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- The New Revolution (roller coaster) (currently a redirect to The New Revolution) → The New Revolution (move · discuss) – The article formerly occupying The New Revolution page has been recently changed to a redirect; additionally, the roller coaster page gets over 1,000 monthly pageviews while the old "The New Revolution" page got less than 200 average views monthly. Plighting Engineerd (talk) 02:26, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- Rider–Waite_Tarot → Smith–Waite Tarot (move) – This move is necessary to correct the historical attribution and give due credit to the illustrator, Pamela Colman Smith, whose contribution has been largely overlooked. The proposed title 'Smith–Waite Tarot' accurately reflects her role in the creation of the deck. This change was discussed years ago in section 7 (Rider-Waite, Waite-Smith, Rider-Waite-Smith?) on the talk page: Talk:Rider–Waite_Tarot. Further discussion on 'Smith-Waite' vs. 'Waite-Smith' can take place there if needed. The current title overemphasizes the publisher and omits the artist's contribution. A redirect from Rider–Waite_Tarot to Smith–Waite_Tarot should be created as part of this move. 176.6.135.222 (talk) 21:36, 6 October 2024 (UTC)"
- With Google Ngrams, I get no results for "Smith–Waite Tarot", but "Rider–Waite–Smith Tarot" seems to be in the lead (unless I missed another more popular option). SilverLocust 💬 23:37, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- Methanosphaera stadtmaniae (currently a redirect to Methanosphaera stadtmanae) → Methanosphaera stadtmanae (move · discuss) – In need of WP:PAGESWAP for accepted scientific name. The current redirect from alternative scientific name is backward (see talk page). Azn bookworm10 (talk) 01:42, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
- List of statutory instruments of the Welsh Assembly (currently a redirect to List of Welsh statutory instruments) → List of Welsh statutory instruments (move · discuss) – Welsh statutory instrument is the name of the type of legislation and the National Assembly for Wales has now changed to the Senedd. I made a mistake with renaming one of the pages. DotCoder (talk) 07:06, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

Contested technical requests
- The Gulch, Nashville, Tennessee → The Gulch (Nashville) (currently a redirect back to The Gulch, Nashville, Tennessee) (move · discuss) – Consistency with The Gulch (Atlanta), both referring to neighborhoods in their respective cities. Technical because, I think, "The Gulch (Nashville)" already exists as a redirect page to "The Gulch, Nashville, Tennessee". ZLump (talk) 15:08, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- Neighbourhoods in American cities should use comma disambiguation, not parentheses. See Alphabet City, Manhattan or SoDo, Seattle (or even Fairlie–Poplar, Atlanta.) The Gulch (Atlanta) is incorrect. 162 etc. (talk) 16:01, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Then they should probably both be changed, to "The Gulch, Nashville" and "The Gulch, Atlanta", respectively. ZLump (talk) 23:07, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

- Sanjna → Samjna (goddess) (currently a redirect back to Sanjna) (move · discuss) – more common transliteration of the name, evident by the usage in various sources of the article Seyamar(245CMR)💬📜 06:06, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- I agree that the title of the article should be fixed as requested, but I wonder if "goddess" is the proper disambiguator. The suggestion seems fine but there might be a guideline that I can't find. Meanwhile, this goddess could possibly receive the main Samjna namespace, which currently redirects to Samjna (concept), if the goddess is considered the primary topic. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 14:29, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Doomsdayer520, I did quick search on google books, and yeah, majority of results were about the goddess [2], though I don't know to determine primary in this case Seyamar(245CMR)💬📜 17:54, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- Rn, it would be best to move the article, turn the page Samjna into a disam Seyamar(245CMR)💬📜 18:22, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- I notice that the spelling in opening sentence of the article does not match the article title and was just changed by the nominator. What is the need for disambiguation? Is it for disambiguation with Samjna (concept)? There don't seem to be many other topics known by this name, and the spellings don't seem the same, and this topic has clear long-term notability. Examples of other topics are Vishnu and Shiva. We don't seem to feel the need to disambiguate those. — BarrelProof (talk) 16:50, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- If Samjna is the most common spelling of her name, I recommend that she get the main namespace with no need for disambiguation. Thanks to millennia of religious scripture she is clearly the primary topic, notwithstanding the spelling question. After a move, we can simply add a "see also Samjna (concept)" hatnote to the top of her article and a similar one in the other direction. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 18:53, 3 October 2024 (UTC)

- Keerikkadan Jose (currently a redirect to Mohan Raj) → Mohan Raj (move · discuss) – Mohan Raj is the official stage name. Keerikkadan Jose is a character name by which he is popularly referred by Malayalam audience, but he has also acted in other language films. - Is the "metro station" natural disambiguator truly necessary here? Zero Mile Freedom Park would be more WP:CONCISE. Bensci54 (talk) 16:05, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
