Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Uncontroversial technical requests
- In Concert (Apo Hiking Society album) (currently a redirect to APO Hiking Society) → In Concert $%*!? (currently a redirect instead to APO Hiking Society) (restricted by the titleblacklist, which page movers can override) (move · discuss) – Technically closer title that does not require disambiguation. Pppery 21:49, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
- Willem Mulder (cricketer) (currently a redirect to Wiaan Mulder) → Willem Mulder (currently a redirect instead to Wiaan Mulder) (move · discuss) – The non-disambig title redirects to another page. This becomes the primary topic and can have a hatnote to point to the band. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 09:34, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
- It became a dab after your post. Leaving here for now, but I think it this request still makes sense — Andy W. (talk) 17:49, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
- Blue and Lonesome (album) (currently a redirect to Blue & Lonesome) → Blue & Lonesome (The Rolling Stones album) (currently a redirect instead to Blue & Lonesome (Rolling Stones album)) (move · discuss) – Per band website and others, ampersand is used in place of "and". Also there is another album with title Blue and Lonesome, so band title to be included in article. This is uncontroversial because issue was raised in album talk page for 10 days, and 3 votes for the move and no votes against. See album talk page for band website and other news articles to justify requested album title. The reason this is a complicated move is that on the same day, two articles were created for the same album, and three days later the wrong one (the one being requested as the new appropriate title) was zeroed out and the information was merged to the current article. - Template:UEFA Euro winners (currently a redirect to Template:UEFA European Championship winners) → Template:UEFA European Championship winners (move · discuss) – Proper title as the main article is UEFA European Championship. Secret Agent Julio (talk) 18:34, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
- Comment. There appears to be significant history at the target page. — Andy W. (talk) 18:52, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Andy M. Wang: This is due to the fact that the target page used to be a table of the European Championship winners, but this was only transcluded on the European Championship article itself, which is of no point, so I copied the table code to the article. - Rye (city), New York (currently a redirect to Rye, New York) → Rye, New York (move · discuss) – Disambiguation is redundant given the redirect. 207.161.217.209 (talk) 19:19, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
Contested technical requests
- Max Payne (series) (currently a redirect to Max Payne) → Max Payne (move · discuss) – Unnecessary disambiguation, page is set to be primary article 86.157.203.79 (talk) 19:31, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
- It isn't yet, and I think a requested move is necessary to change a primary topic. Pppery 20:30, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
- Gennadi Yermakov is invalid. Must create Gennadi Yermakov before requesting that it be moved to Gennadiy Yermakov.– typo Mohsen1248 (talk) 19:44, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
- The source on the page itself spells it with Gennadi, however. — Andy W. (talk) 23:55, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
- Salwan Jasim → Salwan Jassim (currently a redirect back to Salwan Jasim) (move · discuss) – typo Mohsen1248 (talk) 19:45, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
