Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Edit this section if you want to move a request from Uncontroversial to Contested.

- United States occupation of the Dominican Republic (1916–24) (currently a redirect to Military Government of Santo Domingo) → United States occupation of the Dominican Republic (1916–1924) (currently a redirect instead to Military Government of Santo Domingo) (move · discuss) – w. style calls for full years if not consecutive. Thanks for the thankless work. Randy Kryn (talk) 11:30, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- A Secret History (currently a redirect to Alistair Taylor) → A Secret History, an Inside Account of The Beatles' Rise and Fall (move · discuss) – displace edit history to location consistent with actual title -- 67.70.33.184 (talk) 06:36, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- David Brown (rugby league) (currently a redirect to David Brown) → Dave Brown (rugby league) (currently a redirect instead to David Brown) (move · discuss) – Don't know if it's important enough, but this has always bugged me. Dave redirects to David, when it should be the other way round. Dave Brown was universally known as Dave. [1] 180.150.71.154 (talk) 07:05, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- Draft:Menstrual suppression is invalid. Must create Draft:Menstrual suppression before requesting that it be moved to Menstrual suppression.– Is this the right place to request this action? There is a draft in AfC that I want to publish but can't as there is already an article in mainspace with the same name - it's a redirect to another article.
