Merger

[edit]

The 390th Bombardment Squadron and 90th Air Refueling Squadron were consolidated into a single unit in 1985. The article on the unit should be under the most recent name of the unit per WP:MILMOS#UNITNAME -- An article about a unit, formation, or base should be placed at "Name (optional disambiguator)". The name should generally be the official name used by the armed forces to which the unit belongs. When a unit or base has had multiple names over the course of its existence, the title should generally be the last name used; however, exceptions can be made in cases where the subject is clearly more commonly known by one of the previous names.

In addition, the text of the 390th Bombardment Squadron needs to be removed for copyright violations. It largely consists of direct quotations from Cohn, Major R. H.; et al. (2013) [1946]. The Crusaders: A History of the 42nd Bombardment Group (M) (Kindle ed.). Baton Rouge, LA: Army & Navy Pictorial Publications. ASIN B00BRSWTDA. Retrieved November 8, 2014. {{cite book}}: Explicit use of et al. in: |last= (help), none of which are credited (notice the extensive use of "we" and "us"). Merger will prevent the article from being stripped of its content. --Lineagegeek (talk) 20:19, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
