[edit]Picture? Surely Celia Imrie deserves a picture? she's quite a well respected actor — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.194.79.180 (talk) 14:18, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
Am i missing something?
[edit]..Just wondering why Celia Imrie is under the LGBT listings, is she bi, and how do we know? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Leonardo2505 (talk • contribs) 13:38, 2 February 2007 (UTC).
Her son, his father.
[edit]In an interview reported in The Telegraph, Imrie stated that she entered into an agreement with Benjamin Whitrow with the sole purpose of enabling her to have a child and would raise the child without his financial support. She said that she neither wanted to marry nor live with anybody as partners. So I have deleted the reference to him in the Infobox as her partner. The citation for the entry under "Personal Life" supports the deletion. Twistlethrop (talk) 13:55, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
Audiobooks
[edit]I have just finished listening to an audiobook read by Celia Imrie. Namely, Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett. It seems a shame that roles such as this are left out of articles, considering I was very impressed by her ability. Driahva (talk) 02:30, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Re: this revert, with a rather surprising edit summary, by Jack1956, I wondered if it might be discussed? Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 18:29, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
- Jack1956, I wonder would you care to discuss this? The Daily Telegraph is generally regraded as a WP:RS? Many thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 07:24, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- I received an email from Miss Imrie saying the quotation was not accurate and was hurtful and asking for it to be removed. I can give you her email address to verify this if you’re not prepared to take my word for it. Jack1956 (talk)<
- Thanks for your reply. I'm quite bemused and intrigued. I have no reason to doubt you. But why would she chose you? Has she only just emailed you? Were you the one who added it to begin with, and she just happened to be reading the article at the time? If she really has a problem with this inaccuracy and hurt, she ought to ask The Telegraph to correct that article? Martinevans123 (talk) 20:12, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- I worked on the article of her friend Fidelis Morgan a few weeks ago who sent me updates to her career. She suggested me to Miss Imrie as the best editor to update her article. Miss Imrie contacted me by email with various career updates she wanted added to her article. I had to find the references and sources to support these changes . We have been in fairly regular contact during that time. This was one of the changes she requested Jack1956 (talk) 21:52, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- I see. Well I would feel very privileged. But you don't have any concerns over WP:COI or WP:OR? The rest of us just have to take whatever is published at face value, and we can't leave material out just to make the the subject look better. Martinevans123 (talk) 22:13, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- I have no concerns over WP:COI or WP:OR; Miss Imrie and I are not friends and we have never met. Nor is she paying me. I just want the article to be as accurate as possible, and if the subject says it’s inaccurate... Jack1956 (talk) 22:25, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- I would suggest that the framing of this quote within the Telegraph article and the framing of the quote within the Wikipedia article that is the issue. "I would dread the daily sound of the key in the door" could be used to convey some kind of fear about doors or locks in the Wikipedia article, but I would suggest it does not represent a complete or realistic framing of Miss Imries actual perspective on that subject.Mighty Antar (talk) 23:29, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- Good job that phrase isn't used here, then. But I think I'd always recognise that as an idiom, not as a literal phobia. Martinevans123 (talk) 08:55, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
- Many thanks for explaining. I guess this kind of adjustment happens all the time, but without the openness you have shown here. If your declaration in the edit summary is sufficient to satisfy Wiki policy, then so be it. I guess there's a risk that someone else might re-add it, if they don't review the history or if they miss this thread. Martinevans123 (talk) 08:59, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
