Infobox: currency? TLD code? Time zone?

The infobox needs attention. The Eurasian Union does not have a currency, and when it does get one it is unlikely use the Euro. The Internet TLD ".eu" is that of the European Union. The time zones listed are plainly not correct.

Considerable thought must be given to what summary information is appropriate to an international project of this nature in this stage of its formation. Does its average population density matter?

Figured I'd risk being accused of being a "POV-pusher" again, to once again put my two cents worth in... the biggest threat to an article like this so early in its development is WP:CRYSTAL. So we have a supranational entity made up of three sovereign states. Putin and leaders of the other two states have said they'd like to expand it. That of course, belongs in the article. Agemegos is right when he says a lot of thought should be put into each edit. There are things in this article which should not be there and there are things not in this article which should be in there. Examples:

• Several of the news articles mention that the Union as it stands now could be a major player in the world's petroleum market. No mention of that in this article...
• Several leaders have mentioned currency union. No mention of that in the article. Not even a section on economics anywhere in the article. That's kinda important in an article about a supranational union formed (in part) to foster economic cooperation.
• What doesn't belong here: The map with "other candidate states" and "potential candidate" states. That is using the WP:Crystal ball at this point. No other WP article about supranational organizations of any kind has "potential members" on their map, this article shouldn't either. When Ukraine, Tajikistan, etc formerly request joining (not merely "show interest"), then color them in on the map. Coloring them in now is a violation of WP:POV and WP:CRYSTAL.

The truth is no one knows what the EAU will look like in one year, 5 years, or ten years. This article is likely to see many major changes, but the changes should be about what is happening, not what "experts" think will happen. VictorianMutant^(Talk) 22:13, 20 November 2011 (UTC)

Hey where's Serbia here?

According to this map, Russia plans to integrate Serbia into Eurasian union as well, around 2020, we also have to consider close ties between Russia and Serbia throughout history, similar language and Cyrrilic script, Orthodox religion, and culture.

That map is not reliable. How can Bulgaria and Romania become part of this union when they are already in the EU? If you can find a better source (such as a newspaper article or a statement of a Serbian official) then we can add Serbia to the list of candidates. --Երևանցի ^talk 01:12, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

Yes, Bulgaria and Romania are a part of EU now, but they can exit the same any day. They too had big ties with Russia and former USSR, especially Bulgars who are Orthodox Christians too, writing in Cyrillic and having similar language. Totally same like in Serbian case. And I am sure Bulgarian people would honorably accept being a member of Eurasian Union. I read the article here on wiki and Bulgaria is on the list of potential candidates. Putin has a plan for those countries. Borders must be tied together. It wouldn't suit if Serbia and Bulgaria were members of Eurasian Union and not having mutual borders, being far from Russia. That's why he wants Romania as well. Alliances change over time, they can abandon Europian Union any day, as well as NATO.

Yeah, Romania and Bulgaria HAD ties to Russia/Soviet Union and they have been running away from Russia ever since the fall of Communism. That article and its map are totally laughable. The founding three members of the Eurasian Union have yet to make any real progress and they expect to add all of those other states in less than a decade? Not going to happen. Oh no one doubts that Russia wants the EAU to grow and specifically wants Serbia in it, but no one outside of Russia sees this as anywhere near likely to happen anytime soon. Most definitely not by 2020. Even with the economic crisis, the EU simply has much more to offer than an alliance with Russia does at this time. --Khajidha (talk) 10:25, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

I am sorry to say this but EU doesn't have anything better to offer to Serbia. EU already offered to Serbs what it had 1999 and 2008 if you know what I mean. EU also sees all defenders of Serbia as war criminals while they set Ante Gotovina and Naser Oric free. And it's very well known what they did to Serbs in Oluja 1995 and Kravica 1993 which happened way before Srebrenica. By the way look at Croatia, they are only four months in EU and already unhappy big time. They receive too little from that organization and they won't have funds to pay the membership for 2014. EU also forces them to change their laws and they are very disappointed about that as well. EU even thought to kick them out. EU is only about Germany, France, UK and such nations. Other ones such as Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia are used if I may say, as a colony, nothing else. Where was EU when Greece was going down? 79.101.66.226 (talk) 12:46, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
