G. D. Falksen, born Geoff D. Falksen, is an American writer and essayist. He is particularly known for his work within the Steampunk genre, as an author of fiction, an individual at the forefront of the culture, an instructor offering lectures on related topics at conventions, and as a representative of the culture to society at large.[1]
Falksen's education includes Sarah Lawrence College of Bronxville, NY (2001 - 2005), Albertus Magnus College of New Haven, CT (2005 - present), and Southern Connecticut State University of New Haven, CT (2007 - present).
In 2008, Falksen's steampunk work began to grow in popularity.[2] His work includes several short stories set in his "Cities of Ether" setting[3], as well as the adventure stories "An Unfortunate Engagement" and "The Mask of Tezcatlipoca," featured in Steampunk Tales. He has also written essays for the programs of several Steampunk-themed events, including the Steampunk Art Exhibition at the Museum of the History of Science at Oxford[4] and the Nova Albion Steampunk Exhibition.
He currently lives in New Haven, CT[5] "surviving the bohemian lifestyle" [6], and has been represented by the Dystel & Goderich Literary Management Agency since 2009.
