Date of birth discrepancy
[edit]The infobox says born 29 April 1935, the text says born 10 June 1935. Gene Nygaard 03:33, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
- I believe that June 10 is correct and that is what the article and infobox both now state. -- Deejayk (talk) 07:12, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

John Baker (defensive lineman, born 1935) → John H. Baker Jr. – This removes the clunky disambiguation in the link of the article, which also implies that Baker was mostly notable for his football career, when his law enforcement position was also notable as well. The target page for the move is a redirect to this page. -Indy beetle (talk) 06:42, 23 January 2020 (UTC) —Relisting. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 14:22, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME.--Ortizesp (talk) 18:05, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Ortizesp: The New York Times called him "John H. Baker Jr.", as did The Los Angeles Times, the Star-News ([1]), the North Carolina History Project ([2]), the Associated Press ([3]) local news station ABC 11 ([4]), the North Carolina State Historic Site Preservation Office ([5]), and the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration Newsletter ([6]). The county safety center dedicated in his honor also bears the name in that style ([7]). Seems common enough to me. -Indy beetle (talk) 22:19, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
- Support on the basis that he is at least as likely to be known for his law enforcement activities as for his sporting career. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 14:28, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
