Name

[edit]

His first name is Gaylord. Gaylord Kent Conrad. After his father, one presumes. Why is that not stated? Isn't the Wikipedia policy to list a person's full name in the bio section? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Venqax (talkcontribs) 22:48, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2006 election

[edit]

We should change the 2006 election section of this article.132.162.216.186 21:44, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

[edit]

Lots of vandalism has been occuring here over the past week, should we protect it until these vandals cool off? Weatherman90 02:31, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There seems to be a ridiculous amount of vandalism lately to any article dealing with ND Democrats. I wouldn't mind seeing anonymous IP users blocked from editing this and a few other pages for a while. --MatthewUND(talk) 07:12, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see the page already was protected when I left that comment. I'm glad to see that. We'll have to monitor other similar articles to see if they should be protected too. --MatthewUND(talk) 07:28, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kari Lee Conrad?

[edit]

I noticed there is a Kari Lee Conrad in the North Dakota House of Representatives. Is she of any relation to Senator Conrad? If so, is this worth mentioning? --Wgbc2032 06:28, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know of any connection, but I've never heard of Ms. Conrad before either...I'll have to look into it. --MatthewUND(talk) 07:22, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I found Ms. Conrad while browsing the North Dakota House of Representatives at Project Vote Smart. Aside from the name, which made me think she was perhaps related to the senator, her religious affiliation is listed as Unitarian. I haven't found anything using Google and even if I did I'm not sure it's even worth mentioning. --Wgbc2032 04:28, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just found out the answer. Kari Conrad is Kent's cousin. I found this info here. --MatthewUND(talk) 06:55, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Senior Senator

[edit]

I would like to point out that in 1992, conrad retired, and Byron Dorgan won. Dorgan is still in the Senate. Wouldn't this make Dorgan senior senator?? Politics rule 22:51, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As I pointed out on your talk page, Conrad has served as a senator continuously since 1986. Although his time in office has been spent in two different senate seats for the state, he has still served longer than Dorgan thus making him the state's senior senator. --MatthewUND(talk) 02:30, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

German-American Parents

[edit]

In the article, it's stated that Conrad was born to German-American parents. However, in this NYTimes piece he is quoted as calling himself Scandinavian. Not sure what to do with that information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.169.15.172 (talk) 23:14, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination for Neutrality Check

[edit]

I'm nominating this article for a neutrality check based on language throughout the article that seems NPOV and non-encyclopedic. Many phrases like "it became obvious" and "received a convenient opportunity" crop up. Several paragraphs exist with little or no citation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.28.104.151 (talk) 21:35, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I see the same issue. I'm going to edit the section to reflect his current statements. Ferris1986 (talk) 00:37, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
