Inline citation needed

[edit]

While there is already a request for inline cites to validate the quotes, several phrases just scream puffery: "'The Person’ is a talk show that only invites the best celebrity stars in the industry, as it consistently ranks #1 in TV ratings in Taiwan", "This has once again showed that Kim Hyun Joong is a global star", "the series was not only a hit in Korea, but all around Asia as well. This includes India, Taiwan, Nepal and the Southeast Asian countries of Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, amongst others as well as in Japan and in North America " and even in the lede: "and is now known worldwide..." - most of the hits I found in looking for facts were in Korean, which I don't read. Hopefully, someone who can translate will pitch in to find quotes and cites that more fairly and demonstrably show the impact of the subject and his achievements. 76.16.237.78 (talk) 01:42, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I did minor editing on the page, just for readability -- but i agree, the article needs citations, neutrality, etc. I can come back to it, if no one else corrects with good sources. Jillian was here. Say It. 02:56, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

SS501's 8th anniversary

[edit]

In recent news, June 2013, SS501 celebrated their 8th anniversary together, except Kim Hyun Joong. Here are the exact words that I used for the article:
...Kim also celebrated his birthday, and his debut with SS501 eight years ago at the same time with his 5,000 fans who attended the event. The other members of SS501 celebrated their eight anniversary together with a video greeting message to celebrate and greet their fans, wherein they posted it on their YouTube accounts individually at the same day. However, Kim could not join them in the video because of his shooting on his variety show, Barefoot Friends at that time. Nevertheless, Kim Hyun Joong said: “ ...It's my birthday party...and my eight anniversary as well...For me, as I always say, I feel happiest when I'm on stage where my fans can see me. I′ll never forget this day I enjoyed with you. I′ll return as a more mature person, so you can look forward to it...For the ending of the show, I think this song best fit. I will sing "Let Me Be The One" ”
Some fans don't agree with me; so here are my reasons, which I think is valid enough:
1. his debut with SS501 eight years ago... - It is a fact that he debuted as a member of SS501, not solo. I also used "his debut with SS501", and not "their debut" or "SS501's debut".
2. because of his shooting on his variety show, Barefoot Friends at that time... - I have a reference reported by SportsSeoul - a "...[k]nown media outlet...[1].
3. and my eight anniversary... - I am aware that Kim Hyun Joong did not say "SS501"'s name during his fanmeeting; that's why the word that I used is "my", not "our" or "SS501". Simply said, I just quoted exactly what he said.
I just posted my reason for future reference. I hope future editors/ readers understands my point. Thank you!

Instruments

[edit]

It says that Kim Hyung Joong is able to play the violin. I assume that this fact is based off when he 'played' the violin during the drama 'Boys Over Flowers'. However, if you watch closely you are able to see that he is not actually playing and merely miming. I don't know if he's picked up the violin ever since, but this should probably be removed from the list of instruments played. 10:24, 14 January 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eunbyeol.han (talkcontribs)

Removal of information

[edit]

Recently, data was removed fro this article by User:Aceplayah27 who stated it was 'false information' in the edit summary. Subsequently, User:Nikrosis, left a message on my talk page which I am pasting below. Please discuss this before any further edits occur.

Hello! This is regarding the page 'Kim Hyun-joong.'

I have noticed that the artist's page about the recent assault allegations have not been updated. Since the plaintiff has already dropped the charges, the prosecutors have already reported that due to lack of evidences; the case was brought to a close, none of these important facts about the case have been updated on his Wikipedia page. Considering how it is important to get these updated on time as it's a celebrated artist's page, it seemed very odd to me that there was a failure to edit it. You were the last person to edit the page so I wondered that it would be best to ask you about it.

Also, I was told that this page was edited previously and you decided to take it down? Was there a reason behind it? That way if I get to know that someone takes the responsibility to edit the page, I could warn them of committing such mishaps.

Thank you and have a good day!Nikrosis (talk) 12:15, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

The information is not "false" and should not be removed. They can add another paragraph about how the case has been dropped with proper citations.  SmileBlueJay97  talk  13:07, 6 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
