Discussion

[edit]

Not a trivial question, as this may open the door for a large number of renames, see for example Category:Comic book awards. Andrewa (talk) 21:03, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So? Do them one after another. The plural contradicts common usage, Wikipedia should not use it. --87.189.71.248 (talk)
So, the claim above that all other prizes are singular is false and misleading, and we should discuss it with this in mind. And assuming this specific move is supported, we might then think of moving several pages at once.
Agree that we shouldn't use the singular, and I think our policy already supports this, so there's no need to discuss the merits of this policy here. That's what policies are for. Andrewa (talk) 00:07, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't checked more than Academy Awards and Nobel Prize when making that statement. In fact, I've only checked these because I know that Wikipedians prefer precedent over common sense. The plural just makes no sense, and we should discuss it with that in mind. That the policy supports it is just icing. --87.189.71.248 (talk)
Disagree. Why reinvent the wheel? Appeal to any relevant policies and guidelines first, fall back on established practice if you think the policy is wrong but the practice is right, and only fall back on personal opinions if both policy and practice seem to be wrong is my advice. Otherwise, why have the policies and guidelines? Andrewa (talk) 01:05, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, whatever. Precedent, policy and common sense seem to agree in this case. --87.189.121.97 (talk)

Missing the slightest hint on WHY it's called "Max & Moritz Prize"

[edit]

I'm missing even the faintest, itsy-bitsy tiny hint about the name of this prize. It would be very important to point out, that it's named for the Max & Moritz stories by Wilhelm Busch. (fwolf) --93.232.48.105 (talk) 21:45, 12 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
