No consensus to move. Vegaswikian (talk) 05:13, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mid-AtlanticMid-Atlantic (disambiguation) – I think Mid-Atlantic states is the clear primary topic for the term "Mid-Atlantic". I would redirect this title there and include a hatnote to the renamed disambiguation page. Powers T 00:47, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Really? I am no stranger to the "Mid-Atlantic" states, and yet I would expect to find this redirecting to Mid-Atlantic English, if anywhere.
Given the nature of our search engine, this is probably a superfluous dab page to rbegin with. If we delete it, searchers for Mid-Atlantic X will still find what they're looking for, and save a click. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 02:43, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Mid-Atlantic is the middle of the Atlantic from East to West, also the equatorial Atlantic. A "Mid-Atlantic accent" is an accent that is not definably British or American/Canadian. The Mid-Atlantic hazard zone is where WWII air coverage did not extend so German U-boats could attack shipping... 70.24.251.158 (talk) 07:17, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment "Mid-Atlantic states" shows clear US bias. What about usage outside the United States? 70.24.251.158 (talk) 07:19, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The case put in the wording for the RM illustrates a growing problem. Too often we find it assumed first that there is or must be a primary topic for any given title, second that it is obvious what that primary topic is, and third that the determination of a primary topic must entail removal of information that obviously helps readers. I am Australian, and have travelled on four continents. I can assure US editors that for our worldwide readership "Mid-Atlantic" does not call to mind certain US states. Even if did do so in many cases, nothing is lost by retaining the present arrangement. Please, let's look carefully at the details of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC and similar provisions. Let's read them with an eye to the larger picture: the needs of readers are paramount, and we would need an exceptionally strong argument to go against them. • Oppose. If you google Mid-Atlantic -Wikipedia, the top result related to the Mid-Atlantic states is No. 9. Kauffner (talk) 16:13, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose Mid Atlantic relates to the middle of the Atlantic ocean, it was important in history and should not change.MilkStraw532 (talk) 05:17, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
