Future organization

[edit]

In the after-show Triple H mentioned that NXT specials will probably become quarter-annual events. If PPV format is followed where each name is repeated annual, could that at some point lead to a split? Like if for example there's more than one "NXT arrival" or "NXT takeover"?

Eventually you figure some name might get repeated, coming up with 4 names each year may not be sustainable. Ranze (talk) 03:00, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stylization

[edit]

Should we still be calling it "Takeover" when WWE is clearly separating the words into "Take Over" in posters or "TakeOver" (uppercase O) in announcements?

For example:

The only places I'm seeing lowercased single-word "Takeover" is from unofficial sources likw PWtorch or WrestlineObserver. I think we should prioritize official stylizations. Ranze (talk) 20:23, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Explanation of revert

[edit]

Let me explain these deletions.

  • 1) Redundancy - if just parroting match results, might as well read the table!
  • 2) Inconsistency 1 - in some cases, only the NXT Championship and Women's Championship matches are mentioned, in other cases, the NXT Tag Team Championship match is also mentioned, or no matches are mentioned.
  • 3) Inconsistency 2 - Ascension's longest reign ending is mentioned. Dallas' longest reign (at the time) ending is not mentioned. Neville's longest reign ending is not mentioned.
  • 4) Unimportant - Charlotte being the second to hold the Women's is not important. We are more concerned with firsts.
  • 5) Lack of Sourcing - no source for contentious claims of reign length, #2 to hold a championship.

Non-free posters

[edit]

@Future Perfect at Sunrise: - could you explain how exactly the non-free image you removed ([1] and [2]) are "overused"? Thank you. starship.paint ~ KO 07:20, 14 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:NFLISTS. We don't do list articles that routinely feature non-free images for each element of the list, certainly not if the images aren't themselves the object of non-trivial discussion, aren't necessary for the reader to successfully identify the element, and if the sections themselves contain little or nothing in terms of non-trivial sourced information in the first place. The Posters

[edit]

@Future Perfect at Sunrise: and @Starship.paint: From your talk in non-free images that the posters are not important but there is no WWE event without poster as NXT specials, ECW specials, WCW and the Pay Per Views so please don't remove any poster from any user from this page and if you have posters upload it and thanks. Requested move 12 June 2018

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: consensus to move the page to NXT TakeOver and the article on the first event to NXT TakeOver (2014) at this time, per the discussion below. Please help alter links that are intended for the 2014 event to point to the new location. Dekimasuよ! 19:08, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

NXT TakeOver (series)NXT TakeOver – To be consistent with other series, such a WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, etc. The current NXT TakeOver page would need to move to NXT TakeOver (2014). GalatzTalk 19:33, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Support - Clearly the common name for this. TakeOver is now quite the series of events. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 08:24, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Support - good call on the name change.  MPJ-DK  11:49, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose - Contrary to all the above votes. Hansen Sebastian 03:24, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
@Hansen Sebastian: Firstly please properly sign your posts by including ~~~~ at the end, rather than just typing it out. Second, do you care to give a rationale? - GalatzTalk 12:00, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Galatz: The signature was done using ~~~~ at the end, not typed out. I do not have a user page nor do I have a talk page, so it's shown as a plain text.Hansen Sebastian 13:26, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Hansen Sebastian: If you have done a custom signature to remove all your links, you are in violation of WP:SIGLINK. Please fix this immediately. - GalatzTalk 13:31, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You certainly do have a user talk page: User talk:Hansen Sebastian. Dekimasuよ! 19:02, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Support - As per Galatz. TheDeviantPro (talk) 12:03, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@TheDeviantPro: You do know that newcomers may be mislead, let alone veterans, since NXT TakeOver mostly refers to the inaugural event than the series as a whole? Hansen Sebastian 13:25, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Hansen Sebastian: Nope they wont. That is why there is a hatnote at the top of WrestleMania just in case. More than likely though, someone would wind up at the events page right now, looking for the series). We go by WP:PRIMARYTOPIC here, and the series definitely is more primary than the one event. - GalatzTalk 13:32, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Halloween Havoc

[edit]

Please don't add NXT Halloween Havoc to the TakeOver list as it is not a TakeOver event or a Pay-Per-View of any sort. It just an episode of NXT with a special theme added to it, similar to the NXT Great American Bash. WWE have never confirmed it to be a takeover event. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.236.80.152 (talk) 14:21, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
