linda ikeji as source
[edit]Linda Ikeji is a noted Nigerian entertainment journalist. Just as TMZ is accepted why isnt Linda's site ? 68.50.21.190 (talk) 03:27, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
- Lindaikeji and bella naija are equal. Both started out as 'blogspot.com' : http://www.bellanaija.com/about/. The difference is that bella naija bought a top level domain. We know Linda writes the articles/conducts the interviews. Whereas bella naija doesnt tell anything about who writes what: http://www.bellanaija.com/team . So why is LIB not allowed but BN is ? 68.50.21.190 (talk) 11:43, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- I have already explained things to you. Linda Ikeji is a notable journalist, but her blog is no different from the tens of thousands of blogs on the web. Generally speaking, Blog-spot and WordPress domains are not allowed on Wikipedia. Why do you want to cite Linda Ikeji when you can cite newspaper sources? Linda Ikeji does what's called Tabloid journalism. She has gotten cursed out by Olamide and Eva Alordiah for publishing false information about them. I am pretty sure many celebrities have insulted her. Anyways, the bottom line is that her blog is not a reliable source. She has no editorial team. Bellanaija has an editorial team. If newspapers didn't have an editorial team, they wouldn't be considered reliable. Versace1608 (Talk) 13:52, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- The major reason why Linda Ikeji Blog's is not notable is because she is using blogspot, as soon as she gets a personal website, I will not hesitate to cite her on entertainment stories. Her updates is even more reliable than many of the so called notable websites. If she can buy lindaikeji.com domain I will even create a wiki article for her (considering the number of awards she has won and significant coverage she has gotten). Darreg (talk) 20:19, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Darreg: You are wrong Darreg. If Linda Ikeji doesn't have an editorial team, her website will not be considered notable. You've created over 100+ articles on Wikipedia. By now you must know what reliable sources are. Versace1608 (Talk) 20:28, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- Hey y'all, Wikipedia has a noticeboard for reliable sources at WP:RSN. Stanleytux (talk) 21:28, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Stanleytux: The IP user should take his/her concerns there. As far as I'm concern, Linda Ikeji blog is not a notable source. If this user keeps adding the Linda Ikeji blog source, he/she will be reported.Versace1608 (Talk) 21:34, 22 August 2014 (UTC)

- It's not even the "blogsite.com" that makes Linda Ikeji unreliable (I've read it somewhere like that on wiki that infact some blogsites may be considered reliable, as long as it's independent of the subject and notable). While Linda Ikeji blog as a person and her blog are both notable, that blog isn't reliable. Her blog is a "gossip site" - That alone makes it unreliable. And then again, she has been tagged a rumour monger and discredited severally. so....Linda Ikeji website, even if she buys a different domain can never be reliable (well, atleast until it is converted from a gossip site to an established entertainment website).--Jamie Tubers (talk) 18:09, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
- versace you need to learn how to talk /write to people. Darreg was respectful and you were not. If you have a problem with the lindaikeji website create a comment on reliable source board. She gets exclsives, and conducts interviews. In your opinion she is a tabloid jounalism. Your opinion is not the final decider. If you dont like blogspot contact her and buy top level domain for her. She is a respected journalism and she is going to be cited here. Nytimes, washingtonpost, la times, and more are also cursed out by the people who are written about, will you claim that makes them unrealiable ? I gave you links for bellanaija which show nothing, so how can you say bellanaija has editorial team. 68.50.21.190 (talk) 06:46, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
- Jamie, LIB is not a gossip site. It is an entertainment site. Nypost and nydaily news and more all resport gossip and they are still cited. Versace says an editoral board must be present but bellanaija does not have one. 68.50.21.190 (talk) 18:12, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
@68.50.21.190: Let me clarify things to you like I did few months back. Bellanaija is no longer a blog. They started off as a blog on July 1, 2006. Their blog is still active at Bellanaija.blogspot.com. Bellanaija is an entertainment portal which specializes in News, Fashion, Weddings, Music and more. Bellanaija does have an editorial team. Their website is split into different sub groups and each group has different editors. The names of their editorial team used to be on their website. They recently renovated their website and made lots of changes. I remember telling you in this edit while you were IP hopping. FYI, I put in a request to blacklist Linda Ikeji's blog. Once that request gets approved, you (or anyone for that matter) will not be able to add her blog to Wikipedia. Versace1608 (Talk) 13:01, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
I think in the context of Nigerian life Linda is a notable source. Otherwise we may not have that much info on Nigerian stuff. Thank you. 99jjapoppkultur (talk) 04:05, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

Rudeboy and Mr P section
[edit]Are they really necessary? In Mr P's section a lot was said, even about his album when his personal article can carry such information or maybe has that information. In Rudeboy's section I read how he rose to Fame in the 2000's... I think those sections are not really necessary, since they have their own articles. Your thoughts please? I'll remove them in a few days if there's no comment from anyone. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 10:45, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
