Swinging bridge
[edit]This video clearly shows a swing bridge in America swinging 360 degrees; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Govt_bridge_anim2.gif - Yet at the entry for Sale, it is clearly stated 'The Sale Swing Bridge is the only one left in the world that can swing around 360°'. Wayput
[edit]This name has never been officially endorsed in any official publication ,it was a social media suggestion by one particular person over 12 months ago that the name of Sale be changed to it’s supposed aboriginal name “ Wayput “ that was it !! Whether or not that is the correct indigenous term is a matter for historians , what is indisputable however is that the official name is still Sale and should be displayed as such not vandalised and whited out like it is in the official statistics drop down box . To make a social media claim is one thing to advertise in an important publication such as Wikipedia that this official alteration has in fact already been made when it hasn’t has different ramifications . Sale is an important town for a number of reasons it is home to the oil and gas industry and it houses the major airforce pilot training base in the country people pay to buy houses in the town as it’s known it’s name should not be trivialised in this manor . 101.165.222.149 (talk) 20:50, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
Wayput should in no way shape or form be used to describe the town of Sale in an official publication. It is not officially endorsed or certified in any circle . DOCONNL (talk) 23:14, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
Population
[edit]Back in 2010 the Wellington Shire council released a “ Sale Development Plan “ to the public , this included the existing town boundaries with the edition of the Nth Sale development area ,new estates at the satellite town of Wurruk and also new proposed land developments at Longford , this was significant as it reflected the fact that with the new RE- routing of the STH Gippsland highway the nearby satellite of Longford which in fact bought the are closer by road to the main CBD a mere 4 minutes drive in fact . Now according to the interactive population map on the Wellington shire website the current Sale development area population is now 19,676 ( predicted to be in a xcess of 25,000by 2040) . The population as it is currently displayed is only 15,305 this is correct but does not take into account the new growth areas . The difference of some 4,000 people is in deed authentic as it comes from the shires website and indeed significant must be noted this figure doesn’t in anyway include the nearby towns of Maffra and Stratford or impinge on their individual boundaries. How can this be adequately displayed on this page ? Official population publications have a positive effect on investment in a town so I believe this information to be important.
