Fair use rationale for Image:NVBGg NickelodeonSplat logo.jpg
[edit]Image:NVBGg NickelodeonSplat logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image copyright problem with Image:Nickelodeon logo.svg
[edit]The image Image:Nickelodeon logo.svg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.
This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --04:40, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure about this
[edit]Nickelodeon have not said anything about the new logo, so I will watch in the morning, then I'll update it. Thanks! -Sean —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.42.212.13 (talk) 20:29, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yes it has. It was announced on Digital Spy, on Thursday 11th February 2010 that it would carry the new US logo and identity from Monday 15th February 2010, with Nicktoons/Replay, Nick Jr. and Nick Jr.2 would carry it from the second part of 2010 [1]
- Skytvfreak (talk) 00:47, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Yes, you're right! I saw it this morning and it is ULTRA cool! They kept real quiet about it, and then Nathan and Olly said "We started the show... a little early." And nothing about the new logo"!!!!!!Signed Slrkn54 (talk) 17:02, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Hello! Erm, does anyone know the exact date Nicktoons and Nick Jr getting tohe new logo? Slrkn54 (talk) 18:30, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

Unsourced trivia and speculation
[edit]Just to explain my removal of recent additions.
Firstly they are unsourced, so no way of verifying them. They also appear to original research, but without a cite I can't say this for sure. Is there a source for this information that can be cited to better demonstrate its significance and accuracy?
Secondly they are extreme trivia. How many people are likely to be interested in a lengthy description of how past logos animated? This is fancruft more suitable for a fansite.
Thirdly, some of it was simply speculation, backed up with a weaselly "It is believed". Who believes this? Why is their speculation notable?
--Escape Orbit (Talk) 12:36, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
Hi Escape Orbit.
First, I can't source them. This is what happened on air. If any, the only sources I would be able to get would be from YouTube and that isn't aloud. I did have a source for the bumpers which I got from Derek Best on Twitter.
Second, I find it very interesting :) Haha! Many people are interested in the behaviour of the graphics.
Finally, I'm actually pretty good at predicting Nick stuff. I asked them by E-mail a few months back when the new bumpers I said to be believed to come soon would be coming and they said they will come gradually, some being added slowly. They said all bumpers were changed instantly in February 2010 because of the new logo but these new bumpers will be used more gradually. And then Derek Best said they should be properly used whit in 6 months from April (basically September, when school starts). So basically some bumpers may be shown "by accident" that means they will be used at a later stage. You may not remember but the new format bumpers were shown by accident in October 2011 and November and now they're being used.
Hopefully we can look into bringing back the Presentation section?
Thanks! Dylan :)

- Thanks for the reply.
- YouTube videos, as you know, are no good as sources because they are often copyright violations. The reader also has no idea where the videos came from, and if they are what the uploader claims they are. Anyone youtuber could stick together a home video and claim it's a Nickelodeon logo. This is why reliable sources are so important. Reliable sources also help show that the information is actually of significance. If no reliable sources has written about it, maybe it's just fan trivia that very few care about?
- Your "Twitter" source was actually an image, that could have come from anywhere. The reader has no idea if its been tampered with, or lifted out of context, or completely made up.
- Even if a few people find it interesting, Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not an indiscriminate list of all information. This is still much more suitable for a fan website.
- I'm afraid that being "pretty good at predicting Nick stuff" makes it obvious it is original research and speculation. Neither are allowed on Wikipedia.

Nick Fruit
[edit]Indeed, Unorginal is right, despite it's original research, the fruit idents are real. I don't think it was called 'Nick Fruit' though. They have also been scrapped in recent years, I'm not sure if it was 2008, though. TDFan2006 (talk) 12:01, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
