2009 USS Port Royal grounding
[edit]Removed the statement "He was deputy commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet at the time of the 2009 USS Port Royal grounding" – the source clearly states that he was assigned this post in 2010, and in 2009 was Director, readiness and training, N4/N7, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va. Disruptive editing
[edit]DC22201 persists in changing the rank in the infobox from "Rear Admiral" to "Vice Admiral" - based on the (2011) photograph of Giardina in a VA uniform. As noted in the article, Giardina was reduced from Vice to Rear Admiral by non-judicial punishment in 2014. His USN biog dated 2015 (which DC22201 has read because it was they who added the link) also records Giardina's rank as Rear Admiral. There is no ambiguity here - his rank, at retirement, was Rear Admiral. Persistently changing the infobox is now purely disruptive editing. Note that these exact changes were previously disruptively made by 72.107.160.125, who is almost certainly the same editor. The edit also breaks the format of the page, and removes content and references. Keri (t · c) 13:34, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
Timothy Giardina Response to Edit Warring allegation
[edit]Would agree to edit of info box change of rank from Vice Admiral to Rear Admiral. Edit was not intended to mislead readers or be disruptive but was made to reflect the rank of Rear Admiral Giardina's pictured uniform and rank at time of picture. Additional edits were made to reflect accurate reporting of information and final outcome of Admiral Giardina's case in a less biased to guilt format as pages should be factual and reflect an unbiased view. There is no dispute regarding the Admiral's final retired rank of Rear Admiral Giardina as listed in several areas on the page. The former edits did not list all of the pertinent information including the final outcome of the case against Rear Admiral Giardina. Awards added from Official Navy Bio. Not the same user as the IP address aforementioned in allegation of Edit warring. --DC22201 (talk) 16:38, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
