Talk:Transylvanian Alps
Appearance
Most historical and current sources define the "Transylvanian Alps" as including, but not limited to, the Fagaras Mountains. Typical definition - "Transylvanian Alps Romanian Carpaţii Meridionali, southern branch of the Carpathian Mts., extending c.225 mi (360 km) E across central Romania from the Danube River at the Iron Gate."[1] As such, the Transylvanian Alps would include the four Romanian southwestern Southern Carpathians ranges of the Făgăraş, Parâng, Retezat-Godeanu, and Bucegi Mountains.
