Ethnic background of the Yejju people

Hello. I was looking through the page and noticed that you removed the part that said the Yejju were not ethnic Oromo and were just assimilated. Could you explain why?

Sources that prove Yejju were not ethnic oromo and only assimilated:

The article that you changed already stated the existence of a native ethnic group that lived in Angot before the arrival of the Yejju Oromo. During the Oromo Expansions, the Oromos invaded and settled in modern day Angot. Abrasax123 (talk) 01:47, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

And what do you mean the Yejju were not ethnic Oromos but were just assimulated? If they were assimulated, does that not make them Oromos regardless? Greetings and thanks for reaching out to me on the talk page. Firstly, its common sense not to change the page before a debate is settled and both parties come to an agreement (if possible).

Secondly, my claims are well sourced in contrast to yours. The sources you put do not mention your narrative at all.

Thirdly, yes the Yejju were not ethnic Oromos and were simply assimilated as mentioned in my sources. If you don't understand what "assimilation" means then you should do some research on it. Using your example, yes Jews could be assimilated as Russians. The practice of assimilation is not something new and has been done all throughout humanity, for example both France and Portugal allowed for Africans to be assimilated into European culture and allow them to become French and Portuguese citizens with the same rights as an european from the mainland.
