Ilushi or Uloshi is an Igala-speaking community in Esan South East LGA. Uloshi, also known as Ilushi, is a town located in Edo State, Nigeria. It is a significant part of the larger Olu people’s land, known for its rich cultural heritage and historical importance. Uloshi is made up of 9 clans, which reflects the traditional family and communal structure of the Olu people. These clans are integral to the organization of the town, contributing to its governance, culture, and social interactions.

The Olu people, who speak the Olu dialect of the Igala language, have a deep-rooted history in the area, with their presence spanning multiple states, including Anambra, Delta, and Enugu. Uloshi is an example of their cultural spread in Edo State, alongside other communities like Ifeku and Iyelen.

Culturally, the people of Uloshi follow traditional practices, and their dialect includes unique words such as "Alu" (mouth), "Owo" (hands), and "Erhe" (leg). Despite modern influences, they maintain strong connections to their heritage, seen in their communal lifestyle and festivals. Uloshi’s connection to the larger Igala people, especially through their dialect and traditions, makes it an important cultural center for the Olu people in the region.Edo State, Nigeria.[1][2] Their major occupation is farming, fishing and other productions of unfinished Goods .[3] It borders Kogi state, Anambra state and Delta state[4]
