Semi permanent eyelash extensions is a cosmetic procedure used by beauty therapists to lengthen and thicken eyelashes by the use of synthetic individual lashes.
Semi Permanent Eyelash Extensions are individual eyelash extensions picked up with tweezers and applied with special very strong eyelash glue by a professional eyelash extensions technician. This is done whilst you are lying on a beauty couch.[1]
The extensions are attached to your natural eyelashes one by one until the desired look is created. The look would be discussed beforehand at the consultation stage; it ranges from a very natural look to a full glamorous look.
Glue is the most important thing to do with lash extensions. If you use a poor quality glue it can cause problems. Such as lashes falling off quickly, natural lashes drying out, some glues cause irritation & stinging eyes. The best glue to use should be odourless or low odour and passes relevant safety standards. Many types of Korean glue contain solvents which can cause irritation and have strong fumes.
The type of glue used in Semi Permanent eyelash extensions is from the cyanoacrylate family of glues. Cyanoacrylate can be used for gluing of various materials. It finds applications in medicine, for liquid bandages and for suture-less surgery and in beauty for nail glue and a type of Cyanoacrylate is now used in semi permanent lash extension glue. [2]
The procedure will take between 1 hour – 2.5 hours dependent on the look required and number of natural eyelashes available.
