The Third Report is the first participatory news and opinion website, to build a global citizen journalist network - utilizing geolocation software - to provide local, national and international content tailored to the user's location.[2] Run by Anthony and Robyn Borelli, the site consists mainly of news aggregation links to stories from the United States and around the world. Additionally, contributors may write and submit their own news and opinion articles.
History
[edit]Founded by Anthony Borelli in 2009 with the motto "Citizen Journalism reviving the tradition of the Third Man", the Third Report today has readers and contributors from around the globe, but is most active in the U.S., India and Pakistan.
On July 26th, 2010, the Third Report broke it's first national news story when it obtained video footage of Escambia County, FL Republican Party primary candidate, Greg Brown, stealing his opponent's campaign signs in the dead of night. The story was picked up by numerous national news outlets including The Huffington Post[3], Dittos-Rush[4] and Politico (newspaper)[5] which all credited the Third Report for the story and/or the video.
