- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:

Pasoori
[edit]Hello, and thanks for your edits to Pasoori. The idea behind adding the transliteration in Hindi, Gurmukhi, and Urdu in the article Lead is to make it easier for readers to read and pronounce it in language they might be more familiar with if they don't speak and/or can't read Punjabi. Just like you yourself have added the transliteration in English (bhasūṛī) in an Infobox. Additional languages make Wiki pages more inclusive and accessible. Transliterations are best placed in the article lead in the first sentence instead of adding an Infobox:Punjabiterm. Same goes for pronunciations. Please refer to MOS:LEADLANG and MOS:LEADPRON. If you are new to Wikipedia, welcome, but please do review Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section before making formatting changes to an article. Thanks. Priyanka2330 (talk) 21:54, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Priyanka2330: I'm aware of the lead styles. I would agree normally that transliterations are normally best placed in the intro, but the title page in itself is technically a transliteration. Additionally, only relevant languages are added - rarely additional languages. Hindi is definitely not needed here, not even Urdu is required. Further I find it slightly weird that you're removing the Shahmukhi and replacing it with the Gurmukhi, even though the song was written by a Pakistani. The entire point of the Template:Punjabiterm is so that the Gurmukhi, Shahmukhi and transliteration can be included without making the introduction all cluttered. Arabic terms, Chinese terms and many more languages do the same. See: Gangnam Style.
- Please don't revert my edit again. Punjabi suffices here - Urdu is not needed since the term 'Pasoori' is Punjabi, not Urdu. The record label also labels the song as 'Punjabi'. نعم البدل (talk) 22:16, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
- Punjabi, Urdu, and Hindi words are all utilized in the songwriting, making all of these languages "relevant" in terms of providing transliterations. I don't disagree with your edit of adding a PunjabiTerm Infobox, that's fine -- I didn't remove it. However, the opening sentence should include transliterations as well as translations that can ideally be referenced. With regards to the TRANSLATION in English: you keep changing angst/conflict (which was referenced) to troubles (without any references) and that is problematic. "Troubles" is not wrong, however, you've been unable to cite it. With regards to TRANSLITERATIONS: I have zero issues with keeping transliterations in Shahmukhi -- my original edit did include the Urdu transliteration which you actually removed.
- You instructed me to not revert your edit again, but you keep removing REFERENCED material from the article which is not okay. That's not how things work on Wikipedia. You do not get to unilaterally decide. Wikipedia works on consensus, assuming good faith, and being open to compromise. Consistent with Wikipedia:Third opinion I will be requesting a third opinion on this.
- You will want to desist from Wikipedia:Edit warring or I do have to put this dispute on the noticeboard. Priyanka2330 (talk) 22:51, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Priyanka2330: Not Hindi. None of the stakeholders surrounding the song have said it. Only Urdu and Punjabi, and it seems to be that you don't understand the differences between Urdu and Punjabi, specifically in Pakistan with scripts etc. Urdu ≠ Shahmukhi. Shahmukhi implies Punjabi, but at the same time you've already stated that Punjabi exists, but in Gurmukhi? And I really don't understand why you're putting Gurmukhi in a Pakistani Punjabi song.
- It really isn't absolutely necessary to include a reference, nor is it absolutely necessary to include the transliteration in the introduction. As I said, see Gangnam style. Otherwise you're just overwhelming the page with references and repetitive text.
- I appreciate your suggestion for a third opinion or a mediator. نعم البدل (talk) 02:16, 8 May 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Stop edit war's and removing native languages names from articles and labeling them same languages as you doing at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Quetta articles. If you continuously doing this you will be reported.
Also your edit history shows you are continuously engaging in edits war's with other editors, This can be resulted a permanently account blocked for you 103.141.159.231 (talk) 06:50, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
- You are not supposed to clutter the page with languages. There is no difference in the Hindko and Urdu spelling, neither is Hindko a "major language" of KPK, and there was a mistake in the Pashto. My history doesn't prove anything - you are the one reverting for no reason. نعم البدل (talk) 09:14, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
First of all correct your information, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or any other Pakistani province doesn't have any provincial language and second read the article, Hindko it is the second most spoken language in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after pashto. 103.141.159.231 (talk) 16:35, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
- @103.141.159.231: You need to calm down, first of all, and understand that everyone is here to contribute - not just yourself. Yes, but Pashto is the major and most spoken language of KPK, while Hindko is a minor language. I don't mind adding Hindko - but there is literally no difference between the spelling in Urdu or Hindko - it's the same - it's not like Peshawar which has different spellings in different languages, and since it's just cluttering the page - it's better to leave it out. Read WP:LEADLANG. It's not necessary to add every single language - otherwise you'd be adding a LOT of languages, unnecessarily. نعم البدل (talk) 19:41, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
- Now with this in mind, please continue the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Notice board for Pakistan-related topics. نعم البدل (talk) 19:44, 11 June 2022 (UTC)

Threatening? Lol. Kindly check the meaning of vandalism on wikipedia. SunnyKambojLive (talk) 17:08, 5 November 2022 (UTC)

Unconfirmed 2023 Israeli Hamas footage
[edit]I don't know why you reverted my text edit regarding the footage blatantly taken on the day. Is this footage alone only "appearing" to show Noa Argamani being taken prisoner? Gotta abide by the rules for this article, but you did reinsert some duplicate spacing with your revert too, btw. Regards, Kieronoldham (talk) 13:04, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Kieronoldham: Surely you can do better than the nypost. The video wasn't released or leaked anywhere so it can't be verified, it was only shown to select members I believe, and they reported it. So it is indeed '
appeared to show
', not 'display...
'. In fact, even 'appeared to show
' makes it seem like fact, when it isn't. نعم البدل (talk) 13:13, 12 December 2023 (UTC)- Thanks. Sure I can. That's just the first that I saw. Other networks do too. "When it isn't" seems to reflect wishful thinking. I know videos are not RS but you can find some online which reveal the stark reality of that day.--Kieronoldham (talk) 13:36, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Kieronoldham: I might be getting this mixed up. Are you referring to the video specifically to do with the kidnapping of Noa Argamani or generally speaking of the alleged abuse and atrocities by Hamas? نعم البدل (talk) 13:41, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
- Actually both- hence the context of my initial reply to your revert. Obv. Noa's abduction footage is easily found online in video and imagery format and accompanied by verifying text. Her abduction and footage/imagery thereof cannot be compared to and shared with the footage of what happened to others. Several independent sources cannot gratuitously show the footage, can they? Seven o'clock news broadcasts cannot show the equivalent of sterile gore fests. They showed the 45-minute tape to international news journalists. Let's not forget Israel needs international allies and not least America. --Kieronoldham (talk) 13:51, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Kieronoldham: I can believe that Noa Argamani was kidnapped by Hamas, and the video probably serves as evidence of that fact, though I didn't think it warranted a whole article about her. In regards to the 45-minute tape, I'm not disputing it's existence, it probably does exist, and journalists/politicians probably have seen it and I can appreciate that it definitely wouldn't be broadcast on TV. The issue is that it comes from the IDF, which is by definition propaganda. Realistically, there is no way you could verify it and say it is a fact, hence you can't portray it like a fact. You know, would you accept a 45-minute tape by Hamas shown to journalists or other prominent members and accept it as proof of Israeli war-crimes? You could perhaps expand this discussion to Talk:2023 Israel–Hamas war, but I certainly don't think it should be mentioned without putting an emphasis on the fact that it is IDF propaganda. نعم البدل (talk) 14:05, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

Restoring speedy tags
[edit]Hello نعم البدل -- Please don't restore speedy tags that another editor (in good standing) has removed. I don't think A7 applies to these kidnapping articles, as they are not about a person but an event, and not the kind of organised event that the criterion is intended to cover. Regards, Espresso Addict (talk) 02:21, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Espresso Addict: Good timing, I had just left a message on your talk page, lol! Sorry I didn't intend to make it look like spam, I genuinely do think they aren't notable enough, but I did ask for further insight on your talk page, if you don't mind leaving? نعم البدل (talk) 02:24, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

Regarding Punjabi official Language status in Pakistan
[edit]Start the discussion in the talk page otherwise it will stay removed due to lack of sources. Further reverts and I will report for edit warring and disruptive editing. UnbiasedSN (talk) 01:41, 12 April 2024 (UTC)

You need to cool down and stop treating Wikipedia like some sort of WP:Battleground, and yes I will start a discussion on the talk page, if you cannot be bothered to, even though you are the one removing bits of information. نعم البدل (talk) 01:44, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
