Actually, other than the copy-editing, the article is complete. Any writing elements available all related to the characters, so I kinda combined them. I've seen other FA's without writing sections, so I may still submit it for FA sometime soon ("What Is and What Should Never Be" will be the next FAC), but I haven't decided. FAC
Hi ATC!
Much of what Tony objected to in the review can be fixed by restoring lead text from the history. I've fixed some of problems and noted accordingly. The one cumbersome sentence, "Based on the band..." doesn't add much to the paragraph & is explained in the article body, so to simplify I've removed it. Don't have the time for a complete reword in the lead, but if you feel it's necessary in the lead go ahead and re-add with new wording. BTW, I think the person who makes the comments adds the strikeouts if and when they are satisfied the problem is fixed. I'll be gone until much later today, but will continue to watch as much as possible. Take care! Truthkeeper88 (talk) 13:28, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
Oh my bad, I thought that was "crossing out"; I saw that and I thought it meant not to make a finale decision if it fails or it meets criteria until all problems are resolved. My bad, I knew that sounded weird. I haven't got much sleep and am exhausted, I'm wrapping up the FAC requests and will finish tomorrow. ATC.Talk00:51, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Oh, you should take a break. I really think that Tony only wants a simple rewording, and it's easier to think with sleep (at least it works that way for me!) I'm copying the lead/s into the sandbox and will work on a final product there (but it won't be much changed from this morning's version). Take care! Truthkeeper88 (talk) 00:57, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanx, I will because you're right I need it! Also can you revert my edit then back to your revision and rework the lead in your sandbox! Good night. ATC.Talk01:00, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Just a reminder before I log off that the DAB links need to be checked. When the FAC first went up I fixed one of the links, but one still exists at the top of the page and I'm not sure which article you want to dab to. See the most recent comment here. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 02:54, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
Hi ATC!
As per Tony's most recent question whether the rest of the article has been copyedited, I've restored Steve's revisions because he did a nice job. The 35 edits after his revisions may have messed things up a bit. Also, to pass this FAC, you might want to canvass the best writers you know, such as Steve and YellowMonkey and ask for their help for the final push, and then sit back and let others work on the article for a while. Just a suggestion, but worth considering. Until I hear back from you, I will contact Steve to ask for help, just so you know. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 15:45, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I agree that his edits were fantastic and its what the article needed. But, I thought some of these edits I made looked better for some of those minor areas, okay though. That's a good idea. Also, how do you like my edits to the lead? I kind of just worked around Steve's edits. And yes, Steve and YellowMonkey would be great to work on with the article for the finishing touches. ATC.Talk16:19, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
Source issues for FAC
Hi ATC!
Last night Yellowmonkey went through with another copyedit, so that's good! He tagged this: "When Polly Draper told her friend Julianne Moore and her husband, writer and director Bart Freundlich, about the film, Freundlich responded, "Julia would love to be in your movie."[citation needed]
I've looked for the source. Back in October it looks as though this was used to source the Freundlich statement. But it's not in that article! Can you find the source for that statement? Otherwise, I'd suggest removing the statement. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 15:10, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Okay, that's fine. Also, I'd advise against making changes to YellowMonkey's, Dabomb's, and Steve's edits. All are the best copyeditors and you're lucky to get their attention! I'll be logged off for a while, but will check in tonight. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 18:39, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Oh I know, there were just thinks that looked like needed better improvement because maybe it didn't catch their attention. ATC.Talk18:45, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
About the recent FAC
Hi ATC!
I hope you're not too disappointed about the closing of the FAC! I think you had multiple things against you: there are too many FACs right now; not enough reviewers looked at your nomination; and you have copyeditors such as myself who have gotten too close to the article and lost perspective. My advice is to take some time away from this article and focus on something else. When I need to regain perspective I work on something I know nothing about, usually from the list of articles to be copyedited on the copyeditors page. Before you renominate the article be sure to let people know who are familiar with the subject and ask them to be reviewers. For instance place a notice on the Nickelodeon project page and anyplace else you can think of. For now, I think the article is in good shape, so it's only a question of getting somebody to brush up who has some distance from the topic. Anyway, take care! Truthkeeper88 (talk) 02:09, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Okay, thanx for all of your help. It does need an independent copyedit as User:Tony1 said on his talk page. So, I am going to ask around for help with grammar issues, etc. and have put it on the WikProject Nickelodeon project page, as well as the copy-editing guild project. ATC.Talk03:16, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
Hey, a user has said that the "prose can be tightened throughout and made more active." Do you mind doing another run-through of the article with that in mind? Thanks. :) Ωphois00:05, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
Hey, thanks for the support, but you had already given support in the beginning of the process, lol, so it's at the top and bottom of the page. Ωphois21:52, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Oh first, I was commenting that I meant that the article fits FAC criteria, with probably a few adjustments that I couldn't detect. And now I'm saying, it looks perfect. ATC.Talk03:04, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
Hey, i'm Xwomanizerx and i'm currently nominating the article Circus for GA. However, the page has been edited a lot since my nomination and is currently on hold for seven days. I saw your name in the Guild of Copy Editors and i was wondering if you could check my page out? Thanks! Xwomanizerx (talk) 12:10, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
These were consensus based on talk page discussion. If you want them changed, then start a new discussion. Thanks. –Turian(talk)02:12, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Nat & Alex Wolff
The (duo) at the end is not needed. There's no need to disambiguate between two standalone articles and one combined article. If there were something else with the exact title "Nat & Alex Wolff" then yes; otherwise, (duo) is just redundant. Dear ATC,
I'm sorry, but I'm swamped with things right now. But keep me posted about your good work. You can reach me more directly through email at stuart.mcdowell@wright.edu. And I wish you the very best with your project!!

Hi, I'd like to invite you to participate in the Guild of Copy Editors July 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive. In May, about 30 editors helped remove the {{copyedit}} tag from 1175 articles. The backlog is still over 7500 articles, and extends back to the beginning of 2008! We really need your help to reduce it. Copyediting just a couple articles can qualify you for a barnstar. Serious copyeditors can win prestigious and exclusive rewards. See the event page for more information. And thanks for your consideration. ɳorɑfʈ Talk!14:37, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
By July, I will not be busy and should be a great time to copyedit some backlog. I'll definitely sign up. Thanx! ATC.Talk22:44, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
Thanx for the reviewer award. How will it work? Will it come up in my history page or watch list? Thanx! ATC.Talk15:27, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
Hi ATC! The reviewer right is for the new Wikipedia:Pending changes that's slowly being phased in. If any of your articles go onto the Wikipedia:Pending changes/Queue, with the userright you'll have the ability to accept or not accept changes made to the article by vandals, etc. The Wikipedia:Reviewing page explains the process, but honestly, it's very confusing. A few days ago I saw one of your articles on the queue, but can't find it now, so hopefully it's been removed. If you have any questions, please ask me or SandyGeorgia or any other editors you know well. Other than that, unless you want to review articles, you shouldn't have to have to use it. Hope you're having a great summer! Take care. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 20:06, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
Oh yeah actually, I would've joined but is seems quite complex. I think you're right and I will disapprove the request. Thanx! ATC.Talk23:38, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
Unfortunately you don't have much input whether or not an article is chosen for pending changes. I'll keep an eye on the queue and let you know if they choose one of yours. Don't decline the reviewer userright - you're better off having it than not. It gives you the ability to overturn vandalism to your articles which I don't think a user can do without the userright under pending changes. Just ignore that you have it unless you need it. GOCE Backlog Elimination Drive Wrap-up
Greetings from the Guild of Copy EditorsJuly 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive. Thanks to all who participated in the drive! Over 100 editors—including Jimbo Wales—signed up this time (nearly triple the participants of the May drive). This benefited the Guild as well as the articles in need of copy editing. You can see from the comparison graphs that we increased the number of completed copyedits substantially. Unfortunately, we were not able to meet our goal of completely wiping out 2008 from the queue. We also were not able to reduce the backlog to less than 6,000 articles. We suspect people were busy with real life summertime things, at least in the northern hemisphere! We were able to remove the months of January, February, March, April, and May from the backlog, and we almost wiped out the month of June. We reduced the backlog by 1,289 articles (17%), so all in all it was a very successful drive, and we will be holding another event soon. We'll come up with some new ideas to try to keep things fresh and interesting. Keep up the good work, everybody!
