User talk:Alaney2k/Archive Dec 2007
Back to the WikiProject again, we go. GoodDay (talk) 20:45, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- We're glad you kept the 'certificate & the NHL no longer recognizing' hid at the 'Edit Page'. Thank you, for comforming. GoodDay (talk) 20:56, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not out to 'get you' or 'harrass you'. In fact, I admire the time and effort you put in on improving Hockey articles (please believe that). You just got to be careful with 'history' concerning the two NHL Senators. GoodDay (talk) 21:05, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- I just want you to understand, a piece of paper (certificate) doesn't magically rewrite NHL history. As for me being a provoker, that discription tends to be bestowed on an editor who's pushing a minority opinon onto articles (my opinon is in the majority). PS- If however you feel I've been doing something wrong?, then take disciplinary action against me. I will dispute such charges (of course), but If the Administrators decide to block me? Then I'll serve my time. GoodDay (talk) 21:21, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- I am being helpful Al, it may not seem that way, but I am being helpful. GoodDay (talk) 21:33, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- I don't mind the certificate being there, as long as it's accompanied by the NHL dosen't recognize the certificate. Also, a footnote of the 'certicate' should be accompanied by the NHL lack of recognition (if you prefer a footenote). PS- Bring your ideas to the WikiProject, give the members a chance. GoodDay (talk) 21:37, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- I adjusted a sentence, changing to old Senators/Eagles folded (something like that). GoodDay (talk) 21:44, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'll try to remember that Alaney; meanwhile as Red Green would say -- Keep your stick on the ice. GoodDay (talk) 21:54, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Ill further add that before you came around i thought i knew alot about Ottawa hockey history but your edits to the ottawa senators have taught me quite a bit about the history, your doing a bang up job, keep it upJgale061 (talk) 01:21, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- Wow. Thanks! Alaney2k (talk) 17:14, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
The Cash Line
[edit]It's not all that notable, when you compare it to the Punch Line, Scooter Line, Kraut Line etc. GoodDay (talk) 20:36, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'd wait until they win a couple of Stanley Cup titles, myself. Oh well, that's just my opinon. GoodDay (talk) 20:46, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- A few individual NHL awards may help too. GoodDay (talk) 21:29, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- Since it hasn't been tagged with a Prod or an AfD, perhaps that's a sign of article acceptance. I don't think arguing for the article's acceptance base on what the line might do, is good strategy though; due to Wikipedia's views on crystal-balling. GoodDay (talk) 23:42, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- PS- I too, got a chuckle out of Lafleur's observations. GoodDay (talk) 23:44, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- Guess we'll let the community decide its fate. GoodDay (talk) 23:56, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- I was merely pointing out that you shouldn't get your hopes up, as the Afd seems to be heading towards either Merge' or Delete. As for spying on you, I didn't know your sandbox was sacret ground (heck you can spy on me anytime you want, don't blame me though if you fall asleep from boredom). I was just trying to help you, that's all; sorry. GoodDay 16:28, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

- I was worried you might ignore the AfD results if it didn't go your way. My concerns are for you (is that such a bad thing?). GoodDay 16:54, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- No problem, you're free (of course) to do as you wish on your sandbox (nobody will ever challenge that). As for myself? you've never been on my bad side. GoodDay 17:10, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Senators #18
[edit]Talk about coincidences, remember we were talking about the murder of Brian Smith? Well, a couple of days ago, his recently released murderer was arrested for assault. GoodDay 19:44, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Ottawa Hockey Club
[edit]I've asked WikiProject members to consider either deleting or redirecting that article to Ottawa Senators (original). -- GoodDay (talk) 23:42, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
I think the article needs an AfD, it's pratically a mirror of the original Senators article. GoodDay (talk) 23:49, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Ottawa Senators/CASH line
[edit]Do not create duplicate copies of pages in order to avoid deletion.—Random832 17:13, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- Random is correct, creating this new article would be judged as avoiding a consensus (if consensus is for anything but keep). PS- keep in mind, the AfD is still open & might yet go your way. GoodDay 18:16, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- Assuming you're continuing to work on a new Cash Line article (peeked at your sandbox), I hope you've no intentions of adding all that to Ottawa Senators if the AfD calls for merge. Remember, if the AfD calls for redirect, none of that info can be added to Senators. Just making sure, you're not getting your hopes up. GoodDay 18:30, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
What amuses me about all this now is that you have added a cite to the article proving that the name is not notable and yet you still are arguing that it is. -Djsasso 17:58, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- Wait a sec folks, let's wait until the AfD has concluded. GoodDay 18:04, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- The result of the AfD was delete. If you want to save this article text, you may want to save it in notepad on your computer for the future. However, it is my understanding that having that article in your namespace is a wiki user violation. I don't want you to get into any sort of trouble on here. --Pparazorback (talk) 02:16, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- I don't see a violation. It's sort of like 'userfying' it. No copyright problems as the images are from the Commons. Alaney2k 22:15, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

- Am I being paranoid? or is your additions of images of members of the Cash line at Ottawa Senators, a sorta resistance to the Cash Line article being deleted? If I'm just being paranoid, let me know. GoodDay (talk) 22:35, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yes :-) I don't think I am overdoing it with the photos, am I? I only added Spezza. Heatley was imported by someone else. Spezza was part of the Yashin trade. Alaney2k 22:41, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- I asked a simliar question at the Ottawa Senators articles. I've no intentions of reverting, however. GoodDay (talk) 22:43, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, Alaney2k, Wikipedia policy on User pages prohibit any sort of 'userfying' it so to speak. Please see the following: [| What may I not have on my user page?], specifically, the section entitled [| Copies of other pages]. Instructions on how to delete the userpage are here: [|How do I delete a user subpage?]. So, if you wish to archive it for the future should the subject become notable, I suggest opening notepad or some other text editor on your personal computer, copy/paste the article, and save it, as this page is against wikipedia policy on userpages. --Pparazorback (talk) 23:32, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- Understood. I'll delete it asap. Alaney2k 17:35, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- You are still violating policy here. If an admin sees it, it probably gets deleted quickly. Have you archived on your computer yet for the future in case notability is achieved? --Pparazorback (talk) 06:17, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
- Understood. I'll delete it asap. Alaney2k 17:35, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
1989-91 Senators proposed logo
[edit]I completely forgot about that logo, thanks for adding it to the Senators page. GoodDay (talk) 21:52, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
