WikiProject Vancouver
[edit]Hello. I am Arnold (aka Buchanan-Hermit) and I am writing to invite you to join the newly-formed WikiProject Vancouver. It was created really recently and it's in need of new members and those who are willing to spread the word.
I'd love to see you there. :) Thanks for your time. --Buchanan-Hermit™..CONTRIBS..SPEAK!. 04:36, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
WikiProject Vancouver and the GVRD
[edit]To all WikiProject Vancouver participants: A question has been raised in the WikiProject discussion about whether the entire GVRD should be covered by WP Vancouver. I'd love to hear your input on this on the discussion page because I think it is a possibility despite the amount of workload involved.
Also, don't forget that there is a Yahoo Group for WP Vancouver [1] if you want to be involved in a possible Vancouver meetup. Thanks. :) --Buchanan-Hermit™..CONTRIBS..SPEAK!. 21:55, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

-- xompanthy 22:36, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
Otpor
[edit]Hi Boris! My name is Sascha and I'm writing an article about Otpor. I was reading the talk page on Milosevic and saw that you said you'd been there on October 5 (although if you were born in 1988 you were only 12 years old then?) Would you be interested in talking to me about Otpor/the Bulldozer Revolution some time? You can leave a message on my wiki-page or at my Italian blog which is at saschamarie.livejournal.com.Katsam 13:09, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I can imagine that the Serbian wikipedia must be in chaos about now! Monday sounds great, see you then.68.167.254.52 23:21, 11 March 2006 (UTC)--whoops, that was meKatsam 23:22, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
Hi Boris. I went and looked briefly at your website -- wow! When I have more time I'd like to see the trailer because I can't imagine what the Canada Project might be...Anyway, how would you like to be interviewed? I'll be home (after 10 pm west coast time) late tonight and we could talk on AIM or ICQ, or maybe it would be easier if I just emailed you a few questions? Tell me what's best for you. Thanks again, Katsam 23:44, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I did! I still mean to write you back, both to thank you and to ask you about your movies (I watched the trailers) but my projects were due today -- so it's been a little hectic. Thank you for your answers, they were helpful...22:23, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
No personal attacks
[edit]In regards to this edit of yours:
Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy: There is no excuse for personal attacks on other contributors. Do not make them. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that you may be blocked for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thanks, Jkelly 00:48, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
Dzoni 16:52, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

Milosevic Discussion
[edit]I'd recommend walking away from debate on the talk page on the Milosevic article. Just like you can't win a fist fight against a brick wall, you can't convince people of the truth when they've been told lies for so long. NEMT 21:53, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Sadly many people can't overcome the strength of the mainstream western media. I think you may be taking it out of proportion, though. Even in the United States I doubt very many people could locate Serbia on a map or explain any events of the Kosovo War (the few I've tried to inform about it usually dismiss it anyway). I wasn't trying to say you or your opinion were incorrect, I just think perhaps it would be best not to argue about Yugoslav history with the ideologues and know-it-alls of Wikipedia. NEMT 22:20, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Don't take it so personally. Serbs may be disliked by a few in America (actually I'm very surprised to hear you've experienced anti-Serb bias anywhere in North America, but I'll take your word for it), but I know from experience Americans are disliked pretty much everywhere. NEMT 23:12, 14 March 2006 (UTC
- That's my point. While there are a lot of partisan moutpieces here on Wikipedia with an ax to grind with Serbia (mostly due to misinformation) I don't think very many regular people in the US (or Canada) have anything against Serbs, or even realize the US was at war with Serbia just a few years ago. I've always felt the NATO intervention in the war was just an example of unneccessary political maneuvering on behalf of a very incompetent administration, and I feel terrible knowing how much suffering NATO caused in the region in defense of terrorists and criminals. I've also wrote extensively on the mistakes and crimes of Wesley Clark during his tenure as Supreme Allied Commander, though find it very difficult to get anyone to notice, testament to the lack of interest/knowledge in the Balkan conflicts. Anyway, as I said earlier, you'd find it much less stressful to pick your battles on Wikipedia, rather than argue with every anon and nitwit who comes along. Just some friendly advice. NEMT 23:35, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Always happy to help. Though I suspect we have vastly different political ideologies, it's nice to see we can agree on this - if only these anons were so civil, right? See you around. NEMT 23:48, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Vandalism
[edit]- Please don't be childish; deleting Talk-page comments is considered to be vandalism, and together with your other actions (removing AfD notices, etc.), is beginning to draw attention to you as a potential problem. Not signing one's messages is a slip that most people make at some time or another, and is by no means thought of as vandalism under any circumstances. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 11:43, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
- Deleting comments on one's own Talk age, though generally considered to be poor manners, is permissible and not vandalism. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 22:08, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
The rules were here long before you; they're not "against you" (rather, you seem all too often against them). As for calling you a Serb nationalist, even if inaccurate, it's not clear to me that it's a personal attack; it's at best borderline (though it would probably have been better avoided). --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 11:27, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Please, never copy and paste an article from one title to another. List it at Wikipedia:Requested moves instead. Thank you. — Mar. 26, '06 [03:56] <freakofnurxture|talk>
- Thanks for your understanding. We need to keep the edit history of our articles intact at the same title. If the page gets moved by the proper means, all of the edits will also be moved, so everybody who contributes to the article gets credited for it, and so it doesn't appear to have emerged out of nowhere. — Mar. 26, '06 [03:59] <freakofnurxture|talk>
- Regarding the same article :
Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. The notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. If you oppose the deletion of an article, you may comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. JHMM13 (T | C) 09:18, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Your nomination for admiship
[edit]I have withdrawn your nomination early because it is very unlikely to succeed, and multiple oppose votes tend to offend. Have a read of the guide to RFA if you would still like to apply for adminship in the future. -- Francs2000 20:16, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

User:Croatian Historian
[edit]And he took my userspace template as well. I gave him another warning, he believes that since it's his talk page, he can do whatever he wants with it. That's simply not true. Let WP:AIV know if he removes the warnings, and make sure they know that he's been blocked and warned recently. --LBMixPro<Speak|on|it!> 05:03, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Revert war
[edit]Please help - users croatian historian, ahrvojic and eurowikij are pushing croatian pov agressivelly in articles like ante starcevic, ndh (excluding quote of mile Budak ideology to expell 1/3, kill 1/3 and convert 1/3 of serbs and many other articles, removing valid information and refusing to discuss things. for instance, in vukovar battle they claim that 8000 serbs died - a true nonsense, but they keep reverting agressively croatian pov. if you could take a look as well as some other serbian people, because they seem that do not want to compromise and just push their POV. Purrger 05:45, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- thank you for helping resolve the ante starcevic issue. i wish other people of croatian origin were as reasonable as you are Purrger 07:05, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
- i see croatian historian is on your watch list - could you put ahrvojic and eurowikiJ as well.
- We'll see about this Serbian propaganda. Mir Harven 13:44, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
User:Croatian Historian - avoiding a ban
[edit]Could you please talk a look at the following anonimous IP edit list [2]
It is quite clear from it that Croatian Historian was in question, that he is avoiding a ban, and something should be done about it.
3RR revert war
[edit]You are in danger of being blocked for violating the 3-revert rule. --Adam (talk) 03:40, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
You have stated ([3]) that you intend to stalk User:Croatian historian. If I see any sign of that, I shall block you for harassment. I hope that that's clear. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 12:14, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
- Constantly posting hostile and aggressive mesages to his Talk page counts as harrassment. This is your last warning. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 16:01, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, as you did to User:Croatian historian, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Nlu (talk) 06:47, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
user: Nlu
[edit]waddup man??? i noticed Nlu had once again treated others with lack of respect and hostility strictly becuz he's an admin. i am personally a victim of Nlu constantly gettin warnings and block without explanations. the problem with him is when he got no argument, he just walked out on a convo and if u push him, he blocks you for personal attack or trolling. if you're interested in taking any actions such as arbitration, hit me back. i'll help you out. btw i used to live in v-town also, which part are you in??? keep da site pimpin peace --Freestyle.king 07:23, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
Suggestion
[edit]If a user is making personal attacks, such as these, I highly suggest you notify an admin, most notably InShaneee. He will take swift action and if the user continues to make personal attacks he will block them. --Khoikhoi 09:07, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
- No, problem. ;) Let me know what he says. --Khoikhoi 09:10, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
- Suggesting the possibility that one account is the sock-puppet of another is not a personal attack. This sort of hypersensitivity is blocking Wikipedia up with absurd accusations and counter-accusations. I notice also that those who are thus hypersensitive tend to be the more uncivil editors. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 15:48, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
Medule
[edit]Thank you for your support on the Human rights in Croatia article, this user has been repeatedly vandalizing a number of Croatia related pages, inserting factual inaccuracies, reverting indiscriminately, not even wanting to discuss, and breaking the 3RR on numerous occasions, even after warnings. I actually wouldn't mind some of those edits but most ARE clearly factual inaccuracies. It seems he was warned a week or so ago, but now he's just back with a vengance... If you could report him to the admins, it would help tremendously. I don't think he needs to be banned just yet, but this kind of behaviour is unnaceptable, higly disruptive, and unfair towards all those contributers who worked hard to make those articles what they are... Anyways, your help would be most appreciated, and you can say I owe you one if we can make him stop ;) Thanks! --Dr.Gonzo 00:10, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- I have posted a request to have this user blocked here [[4]] so please go and give your opinion. Thanks! --Dr.Gonzo 01:50, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks man, your help is most appreciated. Now all that remains is to wait and see what happens. Thanks again. Later. --Dr.Gonzo 01:56, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, don't be upset because I supported EurowikiJ, I just told him that if those accusations were true I would help him get to the bottom of it. It's nothing personal really, but sockpuppets are really unacceptable and annoying. However, since it was obviously not true then I guess there's no need to push the matter further. Btw, I would suggest that you don't antagonize him, it's completely unnecessary and only lowers your (and his) credibility. Lets just let the matter rest. I think you have shown yourself to be a bona fide Wikipedian and would gladly support your bid for Administratorship if you decide to run for it again. Dont make me change my mind now, ya hear ;) Peace. --Dr.Gonzo 02:08, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well, then it's up to us, the honest honorable Wikipedians to show him it's not all bad ;) And I don't think EurowikiJ acted out of malice, he's just high-strung as I am about the whole Medule incident so he may have overreacted, but you have to admit you haven't been a model Wikipedian in the past yourself, have you? No matter, we're all human, we all make mistakes. We can also correct those mistakes. I think you should extend your apologies to Eurowiki, and I'm sure he'll apologize to you and M.B. if he sees your intentions are honorable. I know it's hard to suck up your pride sometimes, but as I said earlier, its harder to build bridges then it is to destroy them. So, what do you say, is it a deal? --Dr.Gonzo 02:25, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Announcement
[edit]xexexe, много си мелодраматичан брате... --estavisti 18:18, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well, if that's your decision there's not much more I can do. Let me just say I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and maybe, if you continue to make impartial and fair edits others may reconsider their stance also. Please refrain from antagonizing those users further, as it would only serve to prove their point. In addition, I think you should consider editing other, less controversial articles (possibly unrelated to Former Yugoslavia) for a while to show that you are here for the good of the Wikipedia, and not only to push "propaganda" as some would see it. It would also allow time for some heads to cool, and maybe in a few weeks we can discuss this rationally. Until then, peace. --Dr.Gonzo 18:24, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Sockpuppetry
[edit]You know, I'm beginning to think you really ARE a sockpuppet of wikiMB. Purrger 19:17, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- LOL. This coming from a known sockpuppet of Medule. You got some nerve. --Dr.Gonzo 19:14, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- You people are accusing ME of being a sockpuppet of Medule. Pathetic. FYI, Medule, Purger and Purrger are completely unrelated users. Purrger 19:17, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- And BTW, wikiMB is now confirmed to be a sockpuppet of Boris Malagurski by an admin. Get in touch with reality, Gonzo! Trust me, not Boris! Because I am telling the truth. Purrger 19:19, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Right. And I'm guessing it's just by accident that you come along every time Medule needs to avoid breaking the 3RR and revert for him? You're not kidding anyone, and the matter has been put before the administrators, so we'll just wait and see shall we? If it turns out you're who you claim you are then you have my appologies, but that doesn't excuse you from the unresposible and disruptive behaviour of the last 2-3 weeks. As far as Boris is concerned, I told him I'll give him the benefit of doubt until it's proven otherwise. If what you say is true, link to the proof, and I'll reconsider my stance. --Dr.Gonzo 19:25, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Never mind me, just check what admin said about Boris Malagurski. Check the page, and see how he is fooling you. The fact that he can contribute "constructively" does not mean he is a honest person. Purrger 19:31, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Check_User confirmed:
- [5]
- More proof of the dishonesty:
- [6]
- Purrger 19:54, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, so I've checked out the discussion and the administrator says they're either the same user or two users working in close concert. If what Boris tells us is true, about M.B. being his friend whom he introduced to Wikipedia I think it would be possible for that story to check out. However, in light of two potential sockpuppets accusing each other of being sockpuppets I find the situation too rediculous to continue wasting my time with either. All the comments and edits I ever made were in good faith, and if I've been fooled, you can be sure it won't happen again. So, until this fvckin mess is resolved, please don't contact me or ask for my opinions. Thank you. --Dr.Gonzo 19:56, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Confirmed: User:WikiMB is a sockpuppet
[edit]Hey there,
After Kelly Martin declined the request for CheckUser, I was able to gather more evidence which I submitted on on her talk page. She reopened the request and indeed confirmed that the two users are most likely the same editor [7].
I have opened a thread on the Admins Noticeboard to hear the input of Admins on the issue.
