Railway station names

[edit]

Hello. I see that you are moving a lot of railway station articles. It is usual to discuss such wide-ranging moves in advance. Wikipedia article titles are normally in sentence case (Foo railway station rather than Foo Railway Station). Whilst there is no specific policy for Indian stations, similar national guidelines for Canada, Ireland, UK and the United States use sentence case. I suggest that you seek consensus in an RfC or similar forum before moving more pages. Certes (talk) 20:54, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for letting me know! Chickensarebleepssorryuncle (talk) 21:00, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Given the large amount of Indian station articles, what is the best method to seek consensus in such forums? I only joined Wikipedia a week ago so I a not experienced in doing this. Chickensarebleepssorryuncle (talk) 01:07, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Stop

[edit]

Stop adding "Expand|Interwiki" tags to articles. If you continue to do so, you will be reported to administrators and blocked from editing. Softlavender (talk) 11:57, 21 August 2019 (UTC) Hi, do you mean the "Expand Language" tags? I am trying to expand information regarding Dance in India where many of the pages have a larger selection of information in foreign languages, oftentimes the languages of where the dances originated. Stop adding tags

[edit]

Stop adding stub and other tags to articles. If you continue to do so, you will be reported to administrators.

Thus far in nearly 300 edits you have apparently only made a single small cited content addition to Wikipedia. Virtually all you have done is add erroneous stub tags, add needless interwiki-expand tags, add groundless one-source tags, add navboxes, and change or add images. It is not really clear that you are here to build an encyclopedia.

The majority of your edits have been disruptive. Please change your editing patterns and stop adding tags and templates. And please clearly describe each and every edit you make, using edit summaries. -- Softlavender (talk) 12:50, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, what you are saying sounds a little bit complicated, as I have only been on for a few weeks. Will you please explain in layman's terms? I am trying to expand the Dance in India directory but this hasn't been productive apparently? Many of the articles apply to such as they are mostly a few sentences or paragraphs.Chickensarebleepssorryuncle (talk) 16:51, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox

[edit]

Stop adding photos to infobox about countries. If you continue to do so, you will be reported to administrators. Check Infobox country. Peter1170 (talk) 18:46, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

With all due respect, the photos I added to the infoboxes were only to city-states such as Singapore, Monaco, and Vatican City. As these are both cities and countries, generally major cities will have photos in their respective infoboxes. Nowhere in Template:Infobox_country does it explicitly forbid adding photos to countries' infoboxes but this would be a different scenario as city states are effectively both cities and countries. After an inquiry on Singapore's talk page about adding photos to Singapore's infobox most people responded in favor, and the only one that didn't did so neutrally, saying that it may seem unprecedented unless I make it a special case as a city state, which is what I did for all three. I only added photos to city states as they are cities also, and I did not add photos to countries that are not city states, as they contain cities, and are not cities themselves. What is wrong with this?

Thank You! Chickensarebleepssorryuncle (talk) 22:19, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
