In response to the whole CSD troubles...
I formally want to apologize to all those to whom I caused trouble, and sincerely thank all those who have offered advice. I will be revisiting the criterion for speedy deletion, and will refrain from tagging those articles that are not themselves blatant violations. I do ask that if I still mess up, you tell me what I've done wrong. I am very familiar with WP:DICK, WP:BITE, WP:CIVIL, and WP:AGF. A firm comment does not have to be attacking in nature.
- User:Beeblebrox, thanks for the kind words.
- User:SoWhy, thanks for being courteous.
- User:TenPoundHammer, I need you more than ever!
- User:Msgj, I'd love some help.
- User:T L Miles, no harsh feelings, I hope.
- User:Orangemike, you were the first admin to leave a message on my page when I first joined, actually regarding an article for CSD, LNESC. Maybe you could also help me.
Thanks to everyone for helping and commenting on my contributions to this project. As a community, I'd love to fit in and not push anyone overboard. We must paddle towards Jimbo's vision together, and I emplore your help. I admit it: I have a problem with policy. That's the first step.

- I have contested your PROD as I thought carefully about the 'one event' scenario. However Burnside is not notable for the one event of his heart transplant but for the extraordinarily longtime that he survived the transplant (which in 1980 were by no means as successful as today). He is also notable for being Britain's longest living heart transplant patient as evidenced by obits in leading UK papers. Regards Paste Let’s have a chat. 17:26, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Re: I'll Eat Your Face
This article is pertinent to the loyal following of Irish heavy metal, and is the first of many on the topic. It is unclear as to why it is a candidate for speedy deletion at your behest. Please clarify. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mike McGrath-Bryan (talk • contribs) 18:01, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

I have referenced an interview and plan to include more sources as time allows. How are articles meant to be expanded upon if deleted immediately? Mike McGrath-Bryan (talk) 19:42, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- You've been working on this article for well over two hours. I honestly don't think you should be working on expansion, but on finding sources for the article. You've just been adding more unverfiable content while I've been out. You went and removed the speedy deletion tag, even though I asked you not to. So, you've had quite a few minutes on your side to work on expansion (but not on sources). Where are you getting this from? ←Signed:→Mr. E. Sánchez Get to know me! / Talk to me!←at≈:→ 19:46, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Interviews composed with the band, my own personal knowledge of the band and its releases. Why does this article concern you anyway? It's not fair to discriminate against an article because its subject doesn't match your tastes. Mike McGrath-Bryan (talk) 19:49, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- No one's discriminating on anyone or anything. Why it concerns me? Because it's been introduced into the encyclopedia, and as an editor, it's kind of my responsibility to make sure it complies with the policies we follow. Now, unless you have reliable sources for the content you are submitting, you shouldn't really work on expanding it. It's like hammering nails into boards when you don't even have a building permit. I don't think you're quite getting what I'm asking/pleading/begging/requesting/telling you to do:
- WP:SOURCES - read that regarding what can be used to source articles
- WP:BAND - read the notability guidelines for bands
- WP:VERIFY - read that to ensure your information is verifiable
- WP:COI - if you are working with the band, you may be a conflict of interest
- Thank you. ←Signed:→Mr. E. Sánchez Get to know me! / Talk to me!←at≈:→ 19:56, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Just got a call from the band expressing their approval for the page :-) 89.101.235.109 (talk) 21:15, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
- See, this puts me in a pickle. I don't want the page gone, I nominated it for deletion because it does not conform to policy. And, because I have to follow policy, now I have to tell you another thing that will affect the outcome: you seem to be a conflict of interest, since you are getting phone calls from them. So, that might also affect the outcome. —Mr. E. Sánchez (that's me!)What I Do / What I Say 21:19, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Channel partner
Good lord, your editnotice is huge.
Anyway, I don't see the copyright violation at Channel partner. Not sure if you got the right page with [1] or if I'm just blind. Could you double check and possibly retag it, maybe with some more info on the talk page if it's not clear cut?
Thanks, Amalthea 22:18, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Lol yes, it's quite long. I need to trim it down a bit.
- You're not blind - it was only a few words that were copied and pasted, and they remained next to each other, so I believe we'll have to copyedit the article a bit. Otherwise, it's okay. Sry for the mixup. —Mr. E. Sánchez (that's me!)What I Do / Communication 23:13, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
I noticed some of your edits a few weeks ago, regarding all the CSD's etc. I was wondering how to write a suitable comment to you; I saw that you were polite in your response to all the people that you tagged incorrectly, but I was also concerned that you were putting incorrect tags on aa *lot* of pages, and sorry doesn't really work that many times. I was looking for an appropriate way to suggest you stopped tagging for a while.
So - I've now read your apology and request for input, and now feel confident enough to leave you a note.
I've just had a quick look at your last couple of edits, and there's a number of questions immediately;

- What makes you think that this has been edited by the subject or an institution related to the
subject?
- The autobiography tag includes a warning about NPOV, so the pov-check was superfluous.
- What part is not NPOV? Did you check to see if all the references validated the facts?
- Why did you decide to tag the article for 'essay', rather than spending a little of your own
time in improving it?

This article needs additional citations for verification. (March 2009) |
- It has an LEED. It's only 1 line, but it's fine. It reads, "John William Carpenter (August 31,
1881 - June 16, 1959) was an American businessman and agriculturist." Nothing much wrong with
that.
- It's not an orphan. It's linked to from John W. Carpenter Freeway
- What's wrong with the POV?
- What's wrong with the ref? From a brief check, it would appear that the reference, from a University, is perfectly valid and does verify the facts in the article. Didn't you add the ref yourself? (By the way, please enter better edit comments than 'add', it makes it easier to see what's happened)
OK, I'm only going to look back that far, but I hope the point is made.
Perhaps you could go over other edits yourself, and ask yourself similar questions. As a point, there is no way that you can assess and tag an article in a matter of seconds. Slow down, sit back, take a look at the thing from an independent point of view.
With best intentions, I would suggest that you refrain from tagging articles for a while. Why not create some new ones of your own, or develop others.
Oh - and would you mind removing the animated Jimmy from your home page, which screws access to menus? And I'd rather, when editing your talk page, I didn't have to scroll through 2 screens of warnings and user boxes etc.

- Yes, I have removed those templates. Thanks for pointing it out. I wrote the John W. Carpenter article myself, so I wanted to see if I was neutral. I noticed my name at the top of the page. I'd be willing to help. Do you use IRC at all? If so, I was going to suggest that we could patrol some new pages together for half an hour and discuss what needs to be done, if anything, to each one. Let me know if this sounds agreeable. SSP of Kernow
Hi there. You recently placed a "Suspected Sock Puppet" notice on my page because a user mentioned my website URL in their sandbox. As was noted the past two times I was accused of sockpuppetry, just because a user mentions my website somewhere, doesn't automatically mean that user is me in disguise. I have never engaged in sockpuppetry nor tried to advertise my site on here. My site documents a topic that has a Wikipedia article, and is referred to in most of the sources on that article, so it's not strange that from time to time someone mentions my site on here. Last time this happened admin User:Jehochman suggested I ask anyone else who accuses me of sockpuppetry to talk to him as he is aware of my situation. As your SSP contains no actual evidence linking me to the other user, may I suggest that you withdraw it and save everyone's time? Many thanks, Kernow (talk) 16:56, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
- In the time it took me to log back on and respond, it seems that the SOCK investigation grew stale, as I provided insufficient evidence, and would have quickly reverted/withdrawn the item. I do apologize if this caused any "badness". I was unaware of the popularity of the site, and only backtracked to where I had seen this. Again, sorry, and many thanks for remaining polite. —Mr. E. - UAA is for blatant violations of username policy. Suspecting that they might make a bad edit in the future is not a reason to report, and is very much a WP:BITE. Please be more cautious in the future. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:55, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi there; you just dropped a template on this user's page, querying his username. I would like you to look, if you would, at wiki policy on usernames. Most are ok, some are worth querying, and some, such as this one, which attacks another wiki editor, are clearly immediately unacceptable, and should be immediately reported at WP:UAA. Happy wikying.--Anthony.bradbury"talk" 21:12, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
- I reported him first, then templated him, just to point it out, and so the blocking admin would see that someone at least let the user know what's up. See? :-). Emo
May I ask what your reasoning for this is? There does not seem to be an NPOV problem to me, nor any significant synthesis issues. If the problems you are referring to are in the last few sections (the stuff under "Criticism and controversy"), rest assured I know those sections are unsatisfactory and I'm working to fix them. The article is presently under construction (though admittedly I haven't worked much on it the last few days), and I've yet to clean up those last few paragraphs. Nevertheless I don't see any significant POV or synthesis issues there, and I don't think those tags are warranted until the article is no longer under construction. --IllaZilla (talk) 02:19, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Your recent contributions to Wikipedia are very much appreciated. However, please take a moment to review your contributions for spelling, grammatical, capitalization, and punctuation errors before you save. This will help lessen the amount of copyediting others must do on the article, and will help maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance of Wikipedia. You might want to consider using the Firefox web browser, which has spell-check built-in, installing the ieSpell extension for Internet Explorer, or setting up spell-check for Opera.

Robin Esrock - Speedy Deletion
Hi there
Robin Esrock is an internationally recognized television and media personality. His television show is viewed in over 50 countries worldwide on National Geographic, and his writing is read by millions of readers in over a dozen major publications. As a personal fan, compared to many other wiki entries, I believe he warrants inclusion. I have listed 24 references that confirm and verify all the facts presented. I am new to wiki though, so I apologize if the formatting is wrong...I can't figure out how to make them correct! If you can help me with that I'd be most thankful! John C. Calhoun
Hi. Re your post on my talk page, I do not see any personal attacks there. All I recall and all I see is an addition to the Calhoun page regarding his great-great grand daughter, African American Lena Horne. Please elaborate.
if this is reference to my referral of Calhoun as a white supremacist, please note that the article states, explicitly:
Whereas other Southern politicians had excused slavery as a necessary evil, in a famous February 1837 speech on the Senate floor, Calhoun went further, asserting that slavery was a "positive good." He rooted this claim on two grounds—white supremacy and paternalism.
