From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you decide to continue editing bird articles please drop by at Wikipedia:Wikiproject Birds, where we coordinate bird articles to achieve a global coverage of the class. With regards to your edits to American Black Oystercatcher, please be aware that we use the names offered by the Handbook of the Birds of the World. Because oystercatchers are a global family and numerous species are known locally as Black Oystercatchers it is inappropriate for one species to have that name, for that reason we use the name used by global organisations and authorities, not the AOU name. Also, when moving a page, please consult Help:Moving a page and discuss the move beforehand on the talk page. Cut and paste moves are not favoured as it does not take the edit history with it. Thank you. Sabine's Sunbird talk 05:51, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
