Please note that speedy deletion criterion G11 should only be used on articles that is blatantly promotional and would require a lot of work to become non-promotional. Something like 2012 FIBA EuroChallenge Final Four, which although was under the incorrect year, was entirely listing standings in a legitimate sporting event, so would not qualify under G11.---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 23:07, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

Slideshows as sources

We don't use slideshows as sources. In this case the undated slideshow is misrepresenting Kabali's gross as money made at the box office, which contradicts other statements they've made, in which Indian Express/Financial Express is adding pre-release income (satellite rights and music rights) to the total. That is never done. We only care what money was made in ticket sales at the box office. There are ample discussions about this at Talk:List of highest-grossing Indian films and at WP:RSN. Please don't restore the change. We are waiting until the fervor dies down and multiple reliable sources verify independently what the film's actual box office sales was. Also, IBT called the inflated values "fake" and Firstpost has also questioned the claims. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:55, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

Requesting you to contribute in Telugu Wikipedia village project

Dear IM3847,
I'm following your contributions to Andhra Pradesh Villages in Commons and Enwiki. Also, wanted to appreciate your good work especially in this aspect. I think you also knew that Telugu Wikipedia has many TG & AP Village stubs, they are also lacking in terms of images. I request you to add those pictures you uploaded into Commons to add in relevant pages in Telugu Wikipedia too. Thank you.

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to List of railway stations in India does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! βα£α(ᶀᶅᶖᵵᵶ) 18:27, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Autopatrolled granted

Hi IM3847, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! clpo13(talk) 19:26, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

Indiscriminate addition of images on some articles

I have reverted your additions of some images in the "Toll road" and "Junction (road)" articles as indiscriminate addition of images, that does not even reinforce the points of the topic. I know your efforts to improve articles, but for those images you added in the articles I mentioned, that is indiscriminate and does not even improve readers' understanding on the topic, and you did not even explain the edits. Please refrain from adding indiscriminate images, especially those related to roads. TagaSanPedroAko (talk) 14:36, 13 May 2017 (UTC)

@TagaSanPedroAko: Sir, I'll not add indiscriminate images againIM3847 (talk) 15:48, 13 May 2017 (UTC)
I know your efforts to improve articles, and you should be aware that images used must reinforce the article, not to decorate it. Please read the first paragraph of Wikipedia:Image use policy#Adding images to articles, that states that images are added to articles to increase the reader's understanding of the topic. Thanks for taking heed. -TagaSanPedroAko (talk) 03:49, 14 May 2017 (UTC)

An apology, and thank you note

Hi,
I apologise for nominating few of the articles for deletion that you created.
I also wanted to thank you for your contributions on wikipedia. They are really good. I would have given you a barnstar, but I am not some "big-shot", so words is all I have. :-)

Also, sometimes if you are not sure about something (like removing some content as Bamyers99); or if it looks like a big deal, it is always better to ask some other experienced editor from that particular field, or to discuss it on the article's talkpage. Happy editing :-) —usernamekiran(talk) 22:51, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

Thank you sir, but for now Iam removing Indic scripts as per WP:INDICSCRIPT from the village articles.--IM3847 (talk) 02:02, 17 May 2017 (UTC)

Indic scripts

Hi, regarding edits like thisWP:INDICSCRIPT does not apply to articles outside the scope of wikiproject India (like the ones that are under the scope of wikiproject Hinduism) and, as far as I'm aware, it only applies to the indic script and not to any Latin transliterations, and definitely not to pronunciations. Thanks! – Uanfala (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 10:41, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

@Uanfala: Sir, Thanks but does WP:INDICSCRIPT applicable to Pages which are under Several Wikiprojects including Wikiproject India.--IM3847 (talk) 10:53, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
I don't know if there's consensus about that. You could ask at WT:INB. It seems fare to say that INDICSCRIPT could apply if WP INDIA is the most relevant project. This is not the case with Hinduism topics (where the most relevant project is WP Hinduism). – Uanfala (talk) 11:01, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion

Kanaparthi is not eligible for speedy deletion as the context is clearly an Indian surname. Use A1 only when there is no way to determine what topic the article refers to. Appable (talk | contributions) 17:56, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

@Appable: Sir, but it has references only from Facebook and Google, which are Not an Reliable resources as per WP:USENETIM3847 (talk) 23:57, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
Ah. For those sorts of concerns, you should look at the notability policy and use WP:PROD or WP:AFD deletion processes after checking everything to do before nominating for deletion. Speedy deletion is only in very blatant cases. Appable (talk | contributions) 13:38, 1 June 2017 (UTC)
@Appable: Thank you Sir, for helping me out by sharing your knowledge.—IM3847 (talk) 14:03, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

Sorry that I didn't look into the history of that article more closely; I was initially just trying to fix the malformatted coordinates in the {{coord}} template, then got distracted with some copyediting. Apparently, there are two villages named Annavaram in Guntur district: one in Pedanandipadu mandal, at 16°5′15″N 80°16′00″E / 16.08750°N 80.26667°E / 16.08750; 80.26667, and one in Kollipara mandal, at 16°14′54″N 80°47′13″E / 16.24833°N 80.78694°E / 16.24833; 80.78694. When it was created, the article was about the former but mistakenly gave the coordinates of the latter; then an IP today changed the mandal name and added some content that's apparently about the latter. As a result, we are left without an article about the place the article was originally written about. I'm going to restore the content to reflect the original author's intention and emend the coordinates. Anyone who wants to create an article about the place in Kollipara mandal is free to do so; but for disambiguation purposes the current article should be moved to a clearer title, and the new article should be named with one that's likewise clear. Deor (talk) 18:05, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

@Deor: Sir, sorry for confusion, I have changed the name of the article from Guntur district to Pedanandipadu mandal.—IM3847 (talk) 08:07, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

Indic Script

Excuse me, sir/ma'am, but does the policy also apply to languages as well? Because when I visit the websites of other languages in the English version of Wikipedia, the language is written in its own native script. This is also especially true in Indic languages. Aren't languages excused from that policy? I can understand if cities, towns, and other locations are not. TheAwesome21 (talk) 17:26, 8 June 2017 (UTC)TheAwesome21 (talk) 14:35, 8 June 2017 (UTC)

@IM3847: But, here on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_India#Indic_scripts_in_lead, I see that it states, "Exceptions are articles on the script itself, articles on a language that uses the script, and articles on texts originally written in a particular script." • Just adding that geographic places are a murky area as it's not clear how INDICSCRIPT should interact with WP:PLACE, which recommends that the infobox of such articles should contain the native name. The question was explicitly undecided at the last RfC. – Uanfala 13:06, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Jave Johnson/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Dodger67, Twinkle's algorithm isn't as sophisticated you seem to expect. What it does is only look which was the first edit in the history of the page, and then send a notification to the author of that edit. In this particular case, that edit is IM3847's move of the page away from this title. – Uanfala 15:16, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

Merging of Draft:Midwives article into article Midwife

Hi. I just wanted to raise some concerns about how you handled the merger of the two articles mentioned above. I am mentoring new Wikipedians under a formal mentoring programme and one of them was the author of the article that you in effect deleted through merging it and did so without apparently properly considering whether or not it brought additional information into the system. The draft article did indeed contain much information that was new and the problem with it was how it was named and not that it duplicated information. As far as I can make out, you also failed to interact with the author of the draft article before proceeding with the merger/deletion. The content of the draft article related mainly to Midwives in South Africa and the author should have been advised either to add this information to a new South Africa section in the existing article or create an article on South African Midwives as per the article Midwives in the United States which is linked to the article Midwives. I must also point out that in effectively deleting the article you also acted contrary to the guidelines for dealing with draft articles which do not cite duplication of title (or information) as grounds for 'Speedy Deletion'. In conclusion, please be more careful if you again deal with a matter of a draft article that concerns duplication of the title of an existing Article. On its own this is not grounds for a merger or deletion and you should have checked content and liaised with the author in an instance where a simple change of title would have resolved most of the issues that existed. In South Africa we are trying very hard to encourage young Wikipedians to add content on our country and continent and hope that you can assist them through advising and encouraging them as we should all new members of the Wikipedia team. Hope these comments are taken in constructive spirit in which they are intended. Thanks.Waitabout 09:07, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

@Waitabout: — Sir, I have started a discussion at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Midwives about this article, but an Administrator guided me to Merge or Redirect it —IM3847 (talk) 09:12, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
@IM3847: I saw that, but you did act very fast on the merger and clearly did not compare the content of the two articles, or you would have seen that the content was very different and should have been integrated rather than dealt with in a way that led to the deletion of the draft article. As I said you need to be more careful about checking content before you do this again. Also try to be more gentle with new Wikipedians. If you had checked the authors page you would have seen that it was someone new as there is a day counter there. The Draft facility is after all there for people to learn and gain experience and in this instance the author was not given a chance! (I also have taken up the advice you received with the Admin concerned on why she too did not check the content.) Waitabout 10:03, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
@Waitabout: Sir, its fact that I didn't saw the Revision history and Author's page, if I saw them I would have left that page for few a days to improve. Thank you for advising me. — IM3847 (talk) 10:07, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
@IM3847: You are welcome and no harm done. Thanks for taking it in a good spirit. I look forward to some advise from you somewhere down the road when I slip up one day. Waitabout 10:14, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

Edit War Notification

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Kovur, Nellore district shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. DJAustin (talk) 14:37, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

@DJAustin: Sir, I've reverted the edits only after having a discussion with the editor about addition of unsourced information in the above section—IM3847 (talk) 16:34, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

Re this edit: just a reminder that WP:INDICSCRIPT only applies to articles primarily within the scope of Wikiproject India. – Uanfala 15:41, 8 July 2017 (UTC)

@Uanfala: Sorry for the Inconvinience, it was happened because the link from List of cities in India by population leads me to that page.—IM3847 (talk) 15:45, 8 July 2017 (UTC)
Oh, I see, so that's why. Glad the link's been fixed now. Cheers! – Uanfala 16:02, 8 July 2017 (UTC)

Page mover granted

Hello, IM3847. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, and move subpages when moving the parent page(s).

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Alex ShihTalk 12:00, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
