List of tributaries of Catawissa Creek
Congrats - I commented on the FLC and by the time I hit "Save page" it had been promoted to FL! I made a few copy edits and added a lead image (which you took) of the main stem itself. I would see if Kmusser can work on a map when he gets back from his Wikibreak. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 20:21, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
- Great, thanks! A map would be very good. --Jakob (talk) 20:29, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
- Congrats, Jake! Glad to see the list promoted. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 23:05, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
Can I just say you did a gorgeous job on this? Reminds me of visiting my cousins near Brandywine and walking through the woods there. A very nostalgic experience. Adam Cuerden (talk) 23:21, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

Excessive redlinks
I see from your contribs that you have created quite a few articles on places in Pennsylvania. One little complaint is that you seem content to leave redlinks and undisambiguated links to very common plant and animal species found in those areas. I had to clean up Central Mountain for you. Usually it is a very simple matter to figure out which common name goes with which scientific name; I used your own refs. If you do not begin to fix these problems yourself I am afraid I will have to oppose your DYK and GA nominations until you do so. Abductive (reasoning) 20:04, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
- Although I do not do this with the vast majority of my creations, I'll try to be more careful with those. However, a lack of redlinks isn't a GA criterion and it certainly isn't a DYK criterion. --Jakob (talk) 23:32, 9 January 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Arsenal1.jpg
A tag has been placed on File:Arsenal1.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Photo help request
Seeing your Signpost interview, and reading your userpage, I wondered if you'd be interested in helping with a rather large photo project. Several editors active in Pennsylvania, including me, have begun working on a project to get at least one photo in every municipality article statewide; the unillustrated municipalities are listed and mapped at User:Nyttend/Pennsylvania. Some of the least-illustrated counties are in the northeastern quadrant of the state, including Luzerne (48 municipalities are still missing images), Schuylkil, Bradford, and Susquehanna Counties; we're quite open to scenery shots, as you can see from Fairmount Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Any help you can give will be quite appreciated. Nyttend (talk) 06:34, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
- Sure, I'd be glad to help with that. It seems interesting. I'll definitely make a point of tackling some of these over the next few weeks/months. BTW Luzerne County is now at 47, not 48 --Jakob (talk) 13:39, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks! New Columbus now removed from the list. We have approximately 990 unillustrated municipalities statewide, although many of them are also out here northwest of Pittsburgh. Nyttend (talk) 13:52, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
DYK hook
Hi Jakec, I noticed your approved nom: Template:Did you know nominations/McCauley Mountain (Pennsylvania) hasn't been touched in over a month. I've passed over it a couple of times because I wasn't so sure about the wording. I don't have access to the hook source so I have to ask, would you mind if I copyedited the hook to:
- McCauley Mountain (pictured) has numerous coal deposits, but all attempts at mining coal on the eastern side of the mountain were disasterous for the corporations that attempted it?
or would that take it out of context? Fuebaey (talk) 20:06, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Fuebaey: Your wording is okay as well. --Jakob (talk) 20:10, 13 January 2015 (UTC)

Condescending and uncalled for. If someone attempts to correct a mistake you made, that's not an insult. Your rather toxic post here, on the other hand, is. Until such time as you can have me indeffed at ANI for CIR, suggesting that I am not competent is a personal attack. --Jakob (talk) 12:58, 16 January 2015 (UTC)

Please don't do that againIn the future, please do not send editors to AfC reviewers simply asking for reconsideration. I don't reject drafts on a whim and this is the first time a reviewer has asked me to reassess without making even a superficial attempt to address my comments. It's insulting because it insinuates I made a mistake. Clearly you hold a different view from me if you think there's any way Draft:Hostyle Gospel passes WP:GNG or WP:MUSICBIO as is. Perhaps you should re-examine the so-called magazines before you follow-through on approving that draft. This is very concerning for an editor of your experience and I question your competence if that's the sort of advice you're handing out to new editors. Chris Troutman (talk) 06:17, 16 January 2015 (UTC) |
Thank you
Thank you for your encouragement and the consideration for helping me achieve my goal of publishing an article for the group Hostyle Gospel. I have only reached out for help to improve my article, but it seems as if some of the editors I reached out to doesn't see it that way. I requested a reconsideration on the Draft:Hostyle Gospel from Chris Troutman and I also asked if he could he give me some advise on the draft. He became very upset with me for doing so and wrote a response on my user page. I saw what he wrote on your talk page, and I thought I should apologize for bringing up your name in the reconsideration request I wrote to him. In no way was I trying to stir up anything between you and the other editors. I learn from constructive criticism and I also welcome it. I'm not trying to create enemies at wikipedia, I'm trying to become a better writer. So if you're still willing to help me get my article published, I will gladly welcome the opportunity. We've previously run into each other at (the article) Sullivan County Courthouse - it would be real nice to get that to GA, but I ran out of sources and energy.
I see Nyttend already contacted you about getting pix for all the cities, boroughs, and townships in Pennsylvania. Might as well add in all the census designated places. Jakob We Need More People Like You On Wikipedia
Hello there!! Thank you for taking the time looking through my article Hostyle Gospel, correcting what needed to be corrected and resubmitting my article for review. I wasn't aware of the mistakes that I made, but you clearly know more about a clean Wikipedia article than I do. That particular article was special to me because it was the very first article that I submitted to Wikipedia. Learning how to write articles for Wikipedia is treaty, but with practice I believe I'll be a Pro in no time. No matter if my Hosytle Gospel article gets accepted or not, you encourage me to keep writing. Wikipedia needs more individual that encourage other users to keep writing rather than individual that discourage user to write. Thank you Jakob Graceking123 (talk) 19:15, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'm glad I could be of help and I definitely hope you'll be editing for a long time to come. Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions/comments. PS: I didn't actually resubmit the draft. It seems that due to the inner workings of the submit template, whoever adds that template gets notified when it's reviewed, so it's probably best if you do that bit yourself.
