License tagging for File:Alain Boghossian.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Alain Boghossian.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 13:07, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Ararat cement.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:45, 21 May 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 12:45, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Company logo.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

A tag has been placed on Ararat Cement requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NPervez (talk) 13:21, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Ararat Cement, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ararat Cement. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. - Dank (push to talk) 13:56, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Robert_Emmiayn_2.JPG

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Robert_Emmiayn_2.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 22:56, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Church of the Holy Mother of God, Aleppo. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk | Sign 13:26, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Gevorkian Seminary.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Evian Fortress

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Erivan Fortress article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later, and under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribute Share-Alike."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the "Help Desk". You can also leave a message on my talk page. J Milburn (talk) 15:22, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Karen Demirchyan Sports and Cultural Complex

[edit]

The article Karen Demirchyan Sports and Cultural Complex has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unreferenced. Not clear how this is notable.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RadioFan (talk) 14:38, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kevork, I know you have good intentions, but please do not upload pictures to Wikipedia for which you do not own the copyrights or for which you have not asked for permission from its owners. These type of images that you upload will eventually be deleted, and therefore it's better that you don't upload them at all to begin with. Please ask for permissions from their respective authors before doing so.

Images with dubious provenance

[edit]

Hi Kevorkmail. You have claimed that File:Silva Kaputikyan kev.jpg is owned by you and the same for File:Sero Khanzadyan.jpg. The first image is available all over the internet, at a higher resolution, and I've deleted it as an obvious copyright violation. The second is a scan of a printed image whose creation predates your birth - again not your image to claim and I've deleted it. If you think I have made a mistake here please drop me a note. You cannot claim that an image is yours unless it is like the ones you've uploaded from your camera - Peripitus (Talk) 11:10, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, what do u think, I hava my own sources, I am Armenian and I have a lot of encyclopeadias, I've scanned them from by books
You cannot scan an image from a book and claim it is yours. The copyright always belongs to the images original creator. If you got them from a book then the copyright belongs to the publisher of the book, or the photographer....not yourself - Peripitus (Talk) 11:16, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Awarded to Kevorkmail for his excellent contributions towards Armenia and improving coverage of it on here.

Just noticed your tremendous work on Armenia all throughout 2009 and January 2010. Armenia is one of those countries in need of massive development on here and it is editors such as yourself who really are a credit to the project in expanding our coverage of it. Editors like you are more valuable to wikipedia than you probably realise. The "important" editors are not those who run about brandishing their tools and admin badges but those who genuinely care about developing parts of the world such as this and want to see wikipedia cover them as well as others. Keep up the great work and thanks for your photos too. Here is a Barnstar of National Merit of Armenia as a small token of my thanks. Also great work on Aleppo, Syria too. AfD nomination of Vaskenian Theological Academy and others

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated articles are Vaskenian Theological Academy, Baghdasar Arzoumanian. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to the relevant discussion pages: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vaskenian Theological Academy for Vaskenian Theological Academy, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Baghdasar Arzoumanian for Baghdasar Arzoumanian. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:05, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File:Zorats Karer1.jpg missing description details

[edit]
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Zorats Karer1.jpg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Haruth (talk) 14:41, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also true of Zorats Karer2.jpg, Zorats Karer3.jpg, Zorats Karer4.jpg and Zorats Karer5.jpg. If you can't remember details, simply "View of Zorats Karer site" would probably suffice for them all. Best wishes --Haruth (talk) 14:41, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Armenian Prelacy.jpg.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 20:58, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kasab

[edit]

Hello Kevorkmail. Kasab is the name mostly used to refer to the town, as evident by a simple google search, Kesab only returns 6,000 results. Moreover, it is the grammatically more correct name as well. I would appreciate if you didn't move it again to Kesab. If you insist on the move, then at least start a discussion on the talk page first, so that people can weigh in. Besr. Yazan (talk) 04:56, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Kevorkmail. Thank you for your response, and your kind words. I understand that in the local tongue it is pronounced "Kesab", or even "Keseb", but just like the city of Hims (as opposed to the local name of Homs) we can't accept that here as the encyclopedic name. Thank you for your understanding, and all your contributions here, on Armenian culture in Syria and Armenia. It is highly appreciated. Best. Yazan (talk) 08:07, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:The Bar.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. nn123645 (talk) 06:01, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I know you're used to doing things in the "Syrian" way, but this is an American site and you will have to learn some basic ethics. You can't change what I write without even bothering to explain why. This is rude, to say the least. I think Wikipedia rules consider it vandalism to change articles without writing a summary.HD86 (talk) 22:11, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Njdeh3.JPG

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Njdeh3.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:28, 31 August 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:28, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Impuls1.gif

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Impuls1.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Falsely licensed images

[edit]

Inserting other people's work into Wikipedia without permission or attribution is unacceptable. Copyright infringement and plagiarism pose serious moral, legal, and reputation problems. Re: Aleppo photo deletion

[edit]

First of all You cannot ever upload someone else's images without acknowledgement. Now You need to have the images' authors notify Wikimedia that they release the images, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.

Now is also a good time to verify that Your other images have proper permissions. Best, feydey (talk) 07:34, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

September 2010

[edit]
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 72 hours for your disruption caused by your engagement in an edit war at Garegin Njdeh. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Sandstein  18:33, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are blocked for 3 days because, in addition to edit-warring, you constantly called the other editor's edits "vandalism", which they were not, and you also misused Wikipedia as an ethnic battleground (in addition to violating WP:NPA and WP:AGF) with this message. The other editor has been blocked for 24 hours.  Sandstein  18:35, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Arbitration Committee has permitted administrators to impose, at their own discretion, sanctions on any editor working on pages broadly related to Armenia-Azerbaijan and related conflicts if the editor repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you engage in further inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions including blocks, a revert limitation or an article ban. The committee's full decision can be read at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Armenia-Azerbaijan 2#Final decision.  Sandstein  18:40, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear sir, I find your block unfair as I was trying to edit the article of Garegin Njdeh providing third-party reliable sources, but the other user; Quantum666, was insisting to call those sources "unreliable" which was very provocative. I accept that I was envolved in edit warring with him (which is against the rules of Wikipedia), for which I offer my apologies to Wikipedia, but as I told you, his action for denying the third-party sources was provocative and I was forced to call that vandalism (note that denying the fact of a murder is another murder). I'm always ready to discuss articles with anybody, but I expect from the other side to respect the historical facts which are based on third-party reliable sources. I promise that my future edits will be according to WP:DR. Great thanks. Kevorkmail (talk) 04:23, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kevorkmail. I am responding to a request for a Third Opinion on the Garegin Njdeh talk page. As you seem to be one of the parties in this dispute, would you care to comment on your position there? Thanks, WikiDao(talk) 05:06, 28 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your allegations

[edit]

Hello. Could you please explain your edit? You stopped discussion but continue reverting. You should know that

A disruptive editor is an editor who:

  • Does not engage in consensus building:
    • repeatedly disregards other editors' questions or requests for explanations concerning edits or objections to edits;
    • repeatedly disregards other editors' explanations for their edits.

Also you should know that

Sometimes people have edit wars over the NPOV dispute tag, or have an extended debate about whether there is a NPOV dispute or not. In general, if you find yourself having an ongoing dispute about whether a dispute exists, there's a good chance one does, and you should therefore leave the NPOV tag up until there is a consensus that it should be removed.

Best regards, --Quantum666 (talk) 10:44, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is no dispute about the mentioned article, but seems you have a dilemma about the Armenia related articles. Kevorkmail (talk) 10:55, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please, read the rule:
Sometimes people have edit wars over the NPOV dispute tag, or have an extended debate about whether there is a NPOV dispute or not. In general, if you find yourself having an ongoing dispute about whether a dispute exists, there's a good chance one does, and you should therefore leave the NPOV tag up until there is a consensus that it should be removed.

In other words the fact you don't see the dispute doesn't mean other users don't see it too. Please discuss instead of reverting. --Quantum666 (talk) 11:05, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Quantum666, as I told you, there is nothing to dispute about, but it is apparently obvious that you are directed towards the Armenian articles. Please be respectful and do not try to ruin our efforts to build up a good article. You did not even mention the reason for being an "unneutral article". The same thing I can do with all Azerbaijan-related articles but my principles do not allow me to do that, the respect that I owe to literary works prevents me from such a practice. Thanks for your understanding. Kevorkmail (talk) 11:23, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the discussion page and you will see the disputed points. I repeated them today for you as you can see. --Quantum666 (talk) 12:03, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Khojaly

[edit]

The comparison is more than apt. The element of controversy is a lot greater for this article, just as it is the case for any major historical process or event. In the case of Khojaly, it is not wise to argue about the title of an article based on one-and-a-half source of questionable neutrality, when there are so many independent sources proving that it was what it was. I have blocked this account for one month as a result of repeated disruptive and tendentious editing. Major POV and distortions in Urartian language page

[edit]

Please revert those edits, that is complete distortion of the sources [5] they are providing![6] They are saying that, "Armenian replaced the former language Urartian in 5TH CENTURY AD!, before that they are putting it was territory of Urartu!, before 5th century "AD" <--AD ??? Please read the discussions and revert back to the stable original versions.

Here is the POV and major distortions:

It is Classical Armenian that emerges in written records in the 5th century AD as the dominant language of what had used to be Urartian territory.[5]

76.237.8.254 (talk) 23:21, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As you surely can see for yourself, the sentence does not say what the anon thinks it says. It doesn't say when Urartian was replaced by Armenian, it just says when the first written records of Armenian appear. We don't know exactly when Urartian was replaced by Armenian, but the previous sentence explicitly says "it [Urartian] must have been replaced by an early form of Armenian ... perhaps during the period of Achaemenid Persian rule." So no, it doesn't say that happened in the 5th century AD, because that was not "the period of Achaemenid Persian rule". --Anonymous44 (talk) 00:40, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Erebuni Dilijan.png

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Erebuni Dilijan.png.

Armenians article infobox

[edit]

Can you revert the infobox recently changed by user Vahan. He has included a certain Turkish person, apparently of some Armenian decent, but is an unimportant figure for the infobox on Armenians. He also removed Hayk (he tries to give reasons for removing it in talk page), which we call ourselves by Hayk and Hay to our country and peoples. 76.246.27.197 (talk) 19:14, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Yereva. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.

In particular, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Shadowjams (talk) 19:02, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Israel Ori statue in Jermuk.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the image description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. Magog the Ogre (talk) 03:56, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Syria

[edit]

I noticed you have been really pro-bashar. I really don't understand why. Bashar assad has nothing to do with Armenia or Armenian nationalism. If anything Bashar Assad would be a disgrace to Armenians because his forces massacre his own people.

Did you know that in the early 1900s Turkey (then the ottoman empire) outright slaughtered 2,000,000 Armenians just because the Turkish population didn't want to share power with regular and equal Armenian citizens? You most likely knew that of course considering you edit alot of Armenia articles, but I am just trying to say that Assad is replicating that scenario to a very small scale (and without the concentration camps).

I have been editing every article of every major arab spring page sin Jan 25. (Egypt - Libya - Yemen - Bahrain - Syria). These protests have nothing to do international political sentiments, and even less with who supports Armenia or not. I have nothing against you, I am just against all these attempts to undermine the Syrian protests.Sopher99 (talk) 12:21, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry to say but I have seen similar explanation from international Libyans where they say: "I can tell you as a libyan that no-one hates Gaddafi. It is all aljazeera and a zionist consipiracy! All the tribes and all people are fighting these traitors and foreign nationals, and we are winning. Everyone loves Gaddafi, see how the millions come out to support him, see how the tribal leaders gracefully leaders to support him, Tripoli will never fall, because Gaddafi is man who worked for unity, without him there will only be instability, no services, no institutions... only chaos"

Well obviously that was proven to be wrong.

I understand that these protests genuinely make you worry about instability in Syria, but you have to realize that the Syrian people are not ones to be unstable. If the protests do suceed Syria won't be any different in quality of life except for freedom of press and speach. I know it seems tough to let go Bashar assad, especially because Hafez and Bashar are the only ones you guys knew since 1970. They are just men. Most of Syria's secuirty and stability comes from advisors and low level managers, not these men. I have seen all the videos of the protests and i know that protests are in fact genuine. THe only media war is the Syrian government keeping most international media out of Syria except that which would report in favor of the Syrian government.

During the 1970 Hafez Assad revolution there were those who said "President Ahmed al Khatib is the keeper of stability! if Hafez takes charge Syria will be thrown into chaos!" Well obviously there were wrong. Now people say "If Bashar Assad allows a real democratic election, there will be chaos!", and they will be wrong too. Sopher99 (talk) 12:54, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, you know what i meant. Whichever president came before Hafez (i just new he was president before assad) has considerable foreground of support, in which his supports would have freaked out because of the coup. They would have claimed instability would arise, as assad's supporters are trying to use in their defense.

What i am trying to say is that although Bashar assad had good economic and international policies for Syria, you should not fear a non-baathist potentially being elected. Syria's economic and international policies won't change (iran would still be a major factor in Syrian life considering the buisness deals stakes and cultural exchanges) , the only this that would change are social freedoms, and for the better. Also every country had a revolution and they are still alive today. The Muslim brotherhood in Syria is weak, even weaker than the islamist prescence in Libya. The rebels in Libya had 80-90% support, as we see now, and yet could hardly take control without NATO. What chance does the Syrian Muslim brotherhood have? None. If anything, nonviolent protests weaken the resolve of the Muslim brotherhood, making them less of an influence in the everyday life of Syrians. As you know I am pro Syria and Armenia, just not pro Assad. Unlike Armenia where people like Sargsyan and Kopcharyan were democratically elected, Assad was not (no one ran against him because they were not allowed). To enforce an arbitration decision, you have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, please read the guide to appealing arbitration enforcement blocks and follow the instructions there to appeal your block. Magog the Ogre (talk) 22:02, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notice to administrators: In a March 2010 decision, the Committee held that "Administrators are prohibited from reversing or overturning (explicitly or in substance) any action taken by another administrator pursuant to the terms of an active arbitration remedy, and explicitly noted as being taken to enforce said remedy, except: (a) with the written authorization of the Committee, or (b) following a clear, substantial, and active consensus of uninvolved editors at a community discussion noticeboard (such as WP:AN or WP:ANI). If consensus in such discussions is hard to judge or unclear, the parties should submit a request for clarification on the proper page. Any administrator that overturns an enforcement action outside of these circumstances shall be subject to appropriate sanctions, up to and including desysopping, at the discretion of the Committee."

Just to be clear - this is your very last warning. You've been told countless times to knock it off with the edit warring, and you've done nothing but show a battleground mentality (e.g., #Syria). If you don't shape up right now, you will be gone for good. We're here as a community to provide a collegial atmosphere to each other and a neutral telling of the facts, not to grind an axe against our enemies. And yes, I will enforce any bans so that sockpuppetry of yours will not get your point across. Got it? Magog the Ogre (talk) 22:11, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abuse of editing privileges, as you did at Yerevan. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Kevorkmail, you may not attempt to edit Wikipedia with an IP address to avoid your block. If you believe the block was improper, instructions are available right above this message about how you can contest the block. I have no opinion whatsoever on whether or not the block was warranted, but you have to understand that if you want to edit, you must follow proper procedure and request an unblock, and will only be able to edit if that block is overturned. This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I am working here in this community for more than 4 years with useful contributions, and all of my edits are backed with well-referenced sources. Regarding the case in Yerevan city, I have tried to maintain the official sources of the city stats while that user ArmOvak is insisting to post his own-made stats without any reference. I have tried to invite many administrators to solve his stubbornness but never heard a response. Thus, I find your block as an unfair attitude towards a user who made more than 5 thousand useful edits about Syria and Armenia related articles. However, with my absence from Wikipedia, I'm not a loser, instead, the community will lose an enthusiastic user from its pages.--Kevorkmail (talk) 08:14, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You've already been socking using an IP to get around this block. The story of your previous behavior at WP:Sockpuppet investigations/Kevorkmail is not pretty. In December 2010 User:Wknight94 stated in that report that you were misattributing image sources to get around our deletion policy. He indicated that you changed the source of File:Congress Yerevan 897.jpg to be your own work, after you had previously marked it as coming from a web source. (His impression is that you falsified the source). In my opinion, you should stay off Wikipedia for six months, avoiding all sock puppetry during that time, and you could then ask to come back under the provisions of WP:OFFER. EdJohnston (talk) 22:28, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Invitation to workshops on editing Wikipedia - We pay your travel and expenses

[edit]

Dear Kevorkmail,

We are a team of researchers at the University of Oxford and AU Sharjah, researching the experiences of editors of content about the Arab world on Wikipedia. We are interested in your experiences of editing Wikipedia and are organising two events that we think you would be an excellent contributor to.

First, we are hosting an online wiki focus group about contributing to Wikipedia in Arabic and to articles about the Middle East and North Africa. We are interested in what barriers you perceive to exist in Wikipedia, how articles can be made better and generally what can be done to expand and improve Arabic Wikipedia and Wikipedia articles about the Arab world. This discussion will take place on a MediaWiki hosted at our institution and be available in English and Arabic. We will allow users to create their own discussion pages in addition to our discussions.

Second, we are hosting face-to-face workshops in Cairo from 21st-22nd October 2012. If you are interested in this we should be able to pay travel and accommodation costs for up to twenty participants. This workshop will cover similar themes to the online discussion but will allow participants to meet one another and benefit from being together.

We will take care of the organization and planning and all you have to do is show up and be ready to discuss. But if you would like to help shape some of the discussion themes in advance, please let us know. We have booked time in the workshops for Wikipedian-led discussions.

More details can be found by expanding our “Frequently Asked Questions” below.

We would be delighted to welcome you to either (or both) event. Please let us know (wikiproject@oii.ox.ac.uk) if you would like the opportunity to participate and we can send you more details.

Sincerely,

Mark, Bernie, Ilhem, Ali, Ahmed, and Heather

Dr. Mark Graham, Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford; Dr. Bernie Hogan, Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford; Dr. Ilhem Allagui, Department of Mass Communication, American University of Sharjah; Dr. Ali Frihida, National Engineering School of Tunis; Heather Ford, Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford; Ahmed Medhat, Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford;

Non-free rationale for File:Rafayel Israyelian.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Rafayel Israyelian.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 18:28, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Njdeh sign.PNG

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Njdeh sign.PNG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ararat Cement requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. A tag has been placed on File:Aleppo culture.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:59, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Ufar logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:16, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Sero kevqa.jpg. However, it is currently missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 17:18, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
