Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (in lots of languages)

Hi there. I was participating in the Afd for the Chinese version of the show, when several editors pointed out that the title should be in English based on this article naming policy. I moved the article to Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (Chinese game show) because that was the format followed in the existing articles. I did the same thing with the other WWTBAM versions that I could find. After the fact, noticed that you either created or were involved with many of the articles, so I wanted to let you know why I did it. All the best, Xymmax (talk) 14:27, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for doing it. I also moved two article which you forgot to move.

P.S.: Can you close the AfD, cause when I closed it, someone undid my edit, saying: "I just reverted your early close of this AFD. As the original creator of this creator, you have a huge COI in this, and should not have closed this AFD". But the result of AfD was 8 votes to keep and 0 to delete! Best regards, Kubek15 (Sign!) (Contribs) (UBX) 10:43, 2 May 2008 (UTC).

Thank you for moving the other articles. As for the AfD, I too would have a conflict of interest because I am one the "keep" !votes. The AfD certainly is a candidate for an early close per WP:SNOW, but it's best just to wait and let someone else do it, or simply wait out the five days. There is broad consensus on the notability of national television programs; there is virtually no chance the article will be deleted. Xymmax (talk) 12:59, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Hello Jakub, it's me, general caretaker of the international WWTBAM version list. I've just seen your Chinese version article and added a little information which sure makes the article woth keeping. ;-) But did you find any source stating that the translation is "Who deserves to be a Millionaire"? Because Bai Wan Zhi Duo Xing doesn't actually mean millionaire. My Chinese isn't very good, but millionaire is actually Bai Wan Fu Weng (contenese: Baak Man Fu Yung), which in fact was the Hong Kong title. I haven't yet been able to figure out what Bai Wan Zhi Duo Xing means; Bai Wan = one million, Zhi = wisdom or knowledge, Duo Xing = (actually) starry, full of stars. But how to make this an English word? I'm now going to ask this in a linguistic forum, maybe they can help. If not, I'll ask my Chinese tutor on Thursday. --Kazu89 ノート 22:58, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
I think it is "Million of knowledge stars". Kubek15 (Sign!) (Contribs) (UBX) 07:08, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
I have updated your article, have a look ;-) --Kazu89 ノート 13:14, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

You said you think this article is Maltese on the basis of Google Translate. How exactly did you determine that? I went to Google and looked all over, and I couldn't find this tool. Cbdorsett (talk) 01:53, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Go to http://translate.google.com/translate_t?sl=auto&tl=en?sl=auto&tl=en and then write text in the box on left. Then, if Google Translate can translate from this language, he will give text on the upper right: Translation: <language_of_the_text> (automatically detected). If Google Translate can't translate it, he'll give: We are not yet able to translate from <language_of_the_text>. Kubek15 (Sign!) (Contribs) (UBX) 15:01, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

wording on new messages bar

Kubek, don't you know that you can't have "new message" bars that have the exact same wording as the actual bar? You need them to have different wording, even if it's only a pair of words. I think there is some arbcom case that mentions this, but I don't remember on which case. --Enric Naval (talk) 03:49, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I can't find the foreign language Wiki on which this exists. A search on the title got me nothing. Neither did a search for random text. At the moment, pending your reply, I've removed the speedy tag, but I will happily follow through if you can point out the source. Alternatively, if you want to re-tag it, you might fill out the parameters ({{db-a2|source=SourceProject:SourcePageName}}) in case the next admin finds it as difficult as I did. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:40, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. It's handled. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:49, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Millionair articles and Armenia

Hi Kubek,

firstly, please have a look here.

Secondly, I want to give you some hints for your Millionaire articles. In your text you include the date when the show aired first. If you do that you better use the present perfect passive (Legyen Ön is milliomos! has been broadcast from 29 February 2000 to today.) if the show is still on air or the past simple passive (X was broadcast from Y to Z.). Then, when you describe the logo, you should not write nowadays but current. The word nowadays gives the feeling of a comparison with something more or less far back in the past, e.g. In 1933 Germany had a dictatorship but nowadays it is a democracy. Oh, and if you copy the infobox from another article, don't forget the replace all the information. In Legyen Ön is milliomos! you left some Italian facts in the infobox. --Kazu89 ノート 21:04, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Please see here and there. I thought you have them on your watchlist ^^ --Kazu89 ノート 20:39, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
