Happy New Year

[edit]
Dear Macbookair3140,
I just wanted to wish you and your family a happy new year, however you're celebrating it. Whether 2008 was a good year for you, or if it wasn't the greatest year, hopefully 2009 will be better. Cheers, and happy editing in 2009 :-),

Checking talk pages

[edit]

Before you add a tag to an article (such as the "very long" tag to Line of succession to the British throne), it's usually best to look at the talk page. In this particular case, this issue has been discussed at enormous length already. Everybody who uses the page knows that it's long. In this case, a tag is not useful. Noel S McFerran (talk) 20:05, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on User:Renamed user 27, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because User:Renamed user 27 was previously deleted as a result of an articles for deletion (or another XfD)

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting User:Renamed user 27, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 06:10, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Careful

[edit]

Don't give admins warning messages for having tried to clean up pagemove vandalism.

Aside from that, keep up the good work. DS (talk) 02:49, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your request for rollback

[edit]

Hi Macbookair3140. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! FASTILY (TALK) 03:41, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit count

[edit]

Ridiculous Yeah, I have a nonsensically high edit count. Special:Preferences says that I have 458,634 (right now), but I know that I have about 53,000 deleted edits as well... If you need to review my edits about something or don't understand what I did, please let me know. —Justin (koavf)TCM15:16, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh! You tacitly did ask me a question about my edits: I have mostly done maintenance lately and in the past year, that involved categorization of album articles for about six months and tagging talk pages (from all talk namespaces) for the past six months or so. I have made substantial edit to the following articles lately:
My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky
Live Show
Magnapop
List of The Smashing Pumpkins band members
George Orwell bibliography
Small Craft On a Milk Sea
If you want to see what I've done in the article namespace, you can check my userpage: I have some {{topicon}}-style stars that lead to my most substantial article edits and I have a table about halfway down of article that I have created or expanded. Anyway, if you have more questions about my editing--explicit or implicit--please let me know. —Justin (koavf)TCM15:20, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Weldon Henson I am worst about writing prose--especially biographical prose--so I'm really not sure if I can be of assistance in editing this article. Allmusic doesn't have a biography for him, I don't immediately see anything useful from Google, and Google Books has nothing. Simply put, he may not meet notability requirements. Do you have any good sources who have written about this guy? How did you find out about him? If you want help, you can try posting to the talk pages of related WIkiProjects, but that might not be fruitful for you. —Justin (koavf)TCM15:25, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Barbie

[edit]

Hello, regarding your question at Talk:Barbie, there's really no need to bring up such an old issue (over two years old) to discussion (see WP:DENY and WP:BEANS.) If you think protection is necessary, it's better if you report it directly to WP:RFPP. Regards, Siawase (talk) 20:44, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Acalamari 18:37, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Macbookair3140,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
