Diegem church spire image question
[edit]Hi, thanks for your question. The image of Diegem church spire on the Commons is in the category of Diegem, which is itself is in the category of Machelen. This is because the town of Diegem is in the municipality of Machelen. (I don't know of any standard policy for categorising into Belgian municipalities on the Commons, so I just put it there to try to be helpful.) --David Edgar 17:42, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

MCP's project
[edit]Thanks for your e-mail. I saw nothing in it that is unsuitable for a wiki talk page and it is so much easier to use wikilinks when one is talking about WP so I will reply here.
I share your frustration about the Universitat Jaume I - E-translating project. Encouraged by your attitude, I have moved the other two drafts to es: so we have:
- User:Patricia Carbonell/Translationdraft at es:Usuario:Patricia Carbonell/Translationdraft
- User:Lalilolailo/Translationdraft at es:Usuario:Lalilolailo/Translationdraft
- User:EnriqueGarcia/Translationdraft at es:Usuario:EnriqueGarcia/Translationdraft.
For copyright and attribution reasons it would be much better if the drafts were properly interwikied, ie. the individual edits should be moved over. Do you have interwiki rights?
What sort of complicated things were they demanding? — Preceding unsigned comment added by RHaworth (talk • contribs) 13:33, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, I was interrupted by a woman from Wiveliscombe (that is my gender-specific version of a person from Porlock). I intend to leave a stern note at user talk:Mcptrad. I have forwarded your e-mail to María. She looks an OK person - have you thought of talking to her on the telephone? Phone number on this page.
The things we can do are: a) stop them freeloading - looking through the contribs histories of the participants I found at least seven different translations of Penguin Books and b) when they have actually produced something that es: can use, you can make sure that it does get used. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:09, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
Wikipedia:School and university projects/Universitat Jaume I - E-translating
[edit]Thanks for the message. Now that I know what's going on, I would have deleted them if RHaworth hadn't gotten to them first. If this comes up in the future, please don't use the speedy tag that you did, since it's only for use when the deletion is requested by the person whose userspace it is. I'd suggest something like {{db-housekeeping|the content has been transwikied to [give link to relevant es:wp page] and is not needed here}}. Nyttend (talk) 16:32, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- No problem. Until after you left me a message, I hadn't looked at your userpage, so I didn't know that you were more familiar with es:wp. Nyttend (talk) 16:58, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

Credo Reference Update & Survey (your opinion requested)
[edit]Credo Reference, who generously donated 400 free Credo 250 research accounts to Wikipedia editors over the past two years, has offered to expand the program to include 100 additional reference resources. Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:
- Link to Survey (should take between 5-10 minutes): http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/N8FQ6MM
It also asks some basic questions about what you like about the Credo program and what you might want to improve.
At this time only the initial 400 editors have accounts, but even if you do not have an account, you still might want to weigh in on which resources would be most valuable for the community (for example, through WikiProject Resource Exchange).
Also, if you have an account but no longer want to use it, please leave me a note so another editor can take your spot.
If you have any other questions or comments, drop by my talk page or email me at wikiocaasi@yahoo.com. Cheers! Ocaasi t | c 17:25, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

A new multilingual challenge
[edit]Hi I am reaching you here because you participated in the Teylers Multilingual Challenge in 2012. We were thinking of organizing a new one over the weekend of 7&8 March in honor of the Art & Feminism project to increase women's participation on International Women's Day. You, as a previous participant, are already active on Wikipedia, so this would be a way to accumulate more content on Wikipedia that may, at some time, attract more women editors (who knows?). Here (en:Wikipedia:Meetup/ArtAndFeminism/Challenge) is the Challenge page, and please put any comments you have about points (or if you have ideas about suitable prizes) on the talk page of that page (en:Wikipedia_talk:Meetup/ArtAndFeminism/Challenge). Hope you're interested, Jane (talk) 17:26, 25 January 2015 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for August 15
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Torres de Serranos, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Morella. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Catalan Culture Challenge 2016 edition
[edit]I apologize if this message is not in your language. Please help translate it.
From February 21 to March 6 we organise the 2nd edition of Catalan Culture Challenge, a Wikipedia editing contest in which victory will go to those who start or improve the greatest number of articles about 11 key figures of Catalan culture. You can take part by creating or expanding articles on these people in your native language (or any other one you speak). It would be lovely to have you on board again. :-)
We look forward to seeing you!

Disambiguation link notification for February 21
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Julià de Jòdar i Muñoz, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Catalan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Help request for mapping section titles
[edit]Hi. We (the Research Team at Wikimedia Foundation) are building an algorithm that will align Wikipedia article sections across languages. For improving this algorithm we need the help of multilingual Wikipedia editors to provide true statements to the algorithm. You are contacted because based on your Babel template and/or content translation tool usage you know at least two of the following languages: ar (Arabic), fr (French), ja (Japanese), en (English), es (Spanish), ru (Russian).
(Note: by clicking the links in the following paragraph, you will be taken to Google spreadsheet.) If you'd like to help us with translating a subset of the section titles on or before 2018-05-01, please read and follow the instructions. If you see instructions in another language, please scroll down to find your preferred language. If you have questions about this message, you can contact us via Diego. Spanish wikipedia censorship
[edit]Can you unblock the Spanish Wikipedia?
Since it is used outside Europe, the censorship is being applied to:
- Spanish-speakers outside Europe
- Spanish-speakers outside Europe do not participate in European politics (because they literally can't)
- Spanish-speakers that contributed funds to Wikipedia
- Spanish-speakers that contributed to Wikipedia in the form of edits, or by other means
This ban makes sense whatsoever.

Oropesa Castle moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently moved to mainspace, Oropesa Castle, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. In fact it doesn't have a single footnote, and only has one, primary source. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced from independent sources should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
