A Barnstar for you

[edit]
The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
For your long track record of service and excellent work. Long overdue. Keep up the good work. Khirurg (talk) 20:38, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Endorse barnstar wholeheartedly. Don't listen to the naysayers. You are doing great work. This talk about tagteaming is basically a bad case of AGF-defying WP: ASPERSIONS and obsolete illogical reasoning. Every editor on Wikipedia follows the edits of many other editors for whatever reason. This doesn't mean they are tagteaming with anyone. Dr. K. 00:47, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you guys for your kind words. Much appreciated. Wikipedia should resort to neutrality and inclusivity if we want to get away from the old traditional nationalistic edit warring in Balkans. But it seems that certain members of the community are triggered by this approach and cast aspersions towards me out of the blue without proof. I hope that this incivility will not continue otherwise wikipedia is not a place for me. Othon I (talk) 11:03, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I feel you. From my very young age and in my early days at school, the people around me noticed some exceptional skills and talents in me. Talents which weren't without a cost: I was diagnosed with a disorder which made some other aspects of my life needlessly more difficult and complicated. There were moments here in Wikipedia where I had been insulted and bullied exactly for this disorder, which resulted at a backlash against the editor. But the support and sympathy towards my problem from the Wiki community (including Dr. K. here) allowed me to continue and not abandon it. The world may not be perfect. May in fact be toxic against people who do not fit in certain molds. But you gotta just hug the positive side of things that you loved in Wikipedia, and just learn to ignore the ugly side. You are not alone here, remember that. Keep up the good work and have a nice day! --- SilentResident (talk ✉ | contribs ✎) 16:15, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, Othon. What Silent R. said above. Plus, I have to add, don't go to ANI for such disputes. Anyone with a grudge against you will appear to attack you. In rare occasions, as in this case, an admin can also try to attack you and editors you may have seen before on wiki using some specious or silly argument. Don't pay attention to such garbage comments. At ANI there is also the famous peanut gallery of editors who come and chime in with their opinion, which you should take with a truckload of salt. Other than that, ANI is a fine forum. Dr. K. 20:27, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Understood, thank you guys again for the advice. Fun fact is that apart from familiar editors, an editor that I haven't even seen before nor interacted with commented as if they were familiar with me. Really weird but to be honest, I don't really care they can topic ban me for whatever - it seems that NPOV and inclusivity is not what they are looking for, and also, casting aspersions to me for tag teaming when they do it themselves is at least ridiculous and of course shows that respect and good manners is not priority for certain individuals. Othon I (talk) 08:48, 17 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

[edit]
The Original Barnstar
I understand that the Project, and especially the WP:BALKANS topic area, can be quite rough sometimes even for editors with particularly fine contributions. But don't let this discourage you! Keep up the good work. -- SilentResident (talk ✉ | contribs ✎) 23:50, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oh my, oh my. When it's raining, it's pouring. With so many stars, very shortly we are going to have a whole Galaxy of barnstars. All well-deserved. Keep up the good work and keep your chin up. Dont let brutal, obsolete talk rain on your parade. Such crude attempts at intimidation are designed to fail. Dr. K. 03:01, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And again, thank you for your kind words. Othon I (talk) 11:03, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Correction to previous election announcement

[edit]

Just a quick correction to the prior message about the 2022 MILHIST coordinator election! I (Hog Farm) didn't proofread the message well enough and left out a link to the election page itself in this message. The voting will occur here; sorry about the need for a second message and the inadvertent omission from the prior one. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 17:41, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
