A tag has been placed on Woodhill Road Halt railway station, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}

- Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles, as you did with Park railway station. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:
- Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
- Make your case on the article's talk page.
Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - CobaltBlueTony 20:40, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Ashton Moss railway station
[edit]A tag has been placed on Ashton Moss railway station, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD a1.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Taroaldo 22:33, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Edit summaries
[edit]Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, which wasn't included with your recent edit to Milnrow. Thank you. -- Jza84 · (talk) 16:56, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hello again,
- You have just editted Milnrow without providing an edit summary. So please allow me to explain how this works and why it is important.
- On a page being edited, a small "Summary" field is found under the main edit box. It looks like this:
- It is good practice to fill in the Edit Summary field, or add to it in the case of section editing, as it helps everyone to understand what is changed, such as when perusing the history of the page. It's a good idea to set your user preferences (under Editing) to "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary". Always fill in the summary field:- This is considered an important guideline. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may question your motives for the edit.
- Accurate summaries help people decide whether it is worthwhile for them to check a change. We've found that summaries often pique the interest of contributors with expertise in the area. This may not be as necessary for "minor changes", but "fixed spelling" is still very much recommended.
- Hope that helps for the future, -- Jza84 · (talk) 17:16, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
Milnrow
[edit]Hello P.Hogg,
I notice that in addition to your contributions of text, you are also adding photographs - which is great! I was wondering if you'd be able to take a photograph of Milnrow and/or Rochdale sometime - something along the lines of what's found at the top right of Shaw and Crompton and Oldham articles? I think a great shot would be found at Burnedge/Laneside/Fairview at High Crompton for both towns.
It'd be great too if you would take a look at Greater Manchester WikiProject and make contact with us! Hope to hear from you, -- Jza84 · (talk) 02:08, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Bindaree
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Bindaree, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of Bindaree. Nenyedi • (Deeds•Talk) 21:01, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

I was in two minds whether to create this article, but decided not to as I didn't have enough information. I wondered, can you say for certain if it was along the present metro line. Obviously it was on the ELR line, but when the L&YR built their line, did the two meet before the station, or after? I know it was very likely around the North Junction (on the 1893 and 1894 OS map there is a Withins Lane Siding, clearly visible, that appears to branch northeast from the metro line). That siding has gone by 1909. Interestingly, on the 1893 and 1894 maps you can see a Hagside Siding, that presumably would be located at the present level crossing. You can see all this at old maps, and theres a map on the Radcliffe article I made, here Parrot of Doom (talk) 18:38, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Oldham Loop Line Metrolink stations
[edit]I gather that you have been involved in creating articles for the future Metrolink stations (e.g. Milnrow Metrolink station) on the Oldham Loop Line. I am wondering though whether it would be better simply at the moment to leave these names as redirects to the relevant heavy rail station article. I don't think we need an article for both the heavy rail station and the light rail station. When the new Metrolink stations open the heavy rail stations can simply be renamed to the new name with the information about its life as a heavy rail station forming a history section.
Where a Metrolink station is a new station (e.g. Drake Street Metrolink station), rather than a conversion from a heavy rail station, then I'd suggest that we probably don't even need an article yet and they can be left as red links. I would note that consensus regarding other light rail systems in the UK has been that it is not necessarily appropriate to have an article for every stop. I would welcome your views on this since it seems you've been heavily involved in this. Adambro (talk) 18:42, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

Template:Salford Lines
[edit]Hi, I think you created this template, it includes Ellenbrook station which wasn't on the lines on it. Ellenbrook was on the Eccles, Monton, Worsley, Ellenbrook, Tyldesley line, Manchester and Wigan Railway and Tyldesley Looplines that don't have templates. I really don't like to alter it but I hope you might.--J3Mrs (talk) 23:04, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Rochdale-Manchester line link
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. — This, that, and the other (talk) 11:09, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Template:Rochdale Canal and Caldevale Railway
[edit]A tag has been placed on Template:Rochdale Canal and Caldevale Railway requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).
Thanks. — This, that, and the other (talk) 06:56, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Grand National articles
[edit]Are you planning on expanding all the Grand National stubs? - Sitush (talk) 21:41, 18 November 2011 (UTC) I am creating pages showing the basics. Other users are welcome to make edits and add further details.
- Seems odd. Why not just create a list? It would need, oh, five columns or so? If someone wants to spin it off to a full-blown article then they can do so. These really are the ultimate in stubs. Sure, such things are allowed - some people even encourage them - but one-line stubs with a half-cocked infobox? It seems like a waste. Do you not have the ability to expand them yourself? - Sitush (talk) 19:55, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, in any event, you'll need to go through them all and remove "world-famous". That is emotive and we try to avoid such things. While you are at it, you could fix the citations - I've just picked a random selection & none of them are as they should be. - Sitush (talk) 19:58, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- I see you're doing another round of these. The concerns that Sitush had above I echo again now. These are not even stub articles. These are one sentence articles created out of a template. You should familiarize yourself with WP:MASSCREATION as well as you're close to that policy. Instead of creating dozens of WP:KITTENS, why not do at least marginally more expansive and useful articles? Or, as Sitush indicated, put them into a single article by century or decade with a table and then a discussion of them collectively. What you're doing here just increases the workload on everyone else with little gain. Shadowjams (talk) 02:14, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
Stub template position
[edit]Hi, re this and similar edits - please note that stub templates go at the end of the article, after the categories (but before any interlanguage links), per WP:FOOTERS. --Redrose64 (talk) 14:02, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of List of bus routes in Rochdale
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on List of bus routes in Rochdale, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. –Davey2010Talk 15:35, 1 March 2015 (UTC)

2018–19 Manchester United F.C. season Match Details
[edit]The article 2018–19 Manchester United F.C. season Match Details has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Substantially covered by existing 2018–19 Manchester United F.C. season article and clearly a stub in this form
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Disambiguation link notification for September 29
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2011–12 Rochdale A.F.C. season, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages David Ball and Paul McCallum (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:21, 29 September 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Speedy deletion nomination of Idris williams (footballer)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Idris williams (footballer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Doug butler (talk) 23:55, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Paul, I just came across some entries you made in disambiguation pages which contain redlinks Idris Williams (Welsh footballer) and Idris Williams (footballer, born 1910). There is no article for either of these footballers, which is putting the cart before the horse, as dab pages are an index to existing articles. I tried to create stubs for both, but can't find any info, so have requested removal of the disambiguation pages Idris Williams (disambiguation) and Idris williams (footballer). Cheers, Doug butler (talk) 23:20, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

[edit]1969–70 Rochdale A.F.C. season
[edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give 1969-70 Rochdale A.F.C. season a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into 1969–70 Rochdale A.F.C. season. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Sawol (talk) 07:39, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
I’ve turned the article into a WP:BOLD redirect to Go North West as I don’t see any evidence of it meeting WP:GNG. Please inform me if you object. SK2242 (talk) 12:22, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
I've gone ahead and redirected that for now. Usually page blanking by the author is interpreted as a request for deletion, but given your edit summary I wasn't entirely sure, it seemed like you might want to reuse part of what you pasted earlier in the history. Anyway, if you want it deleted feel free to place a {{db-g7}} on the page. You are also free to remove the redirect and continue work whenever you are ready but blank pages are considered harmful, so I couldn't just let it sit there indefinitely. You can also use {{in use}} and {{under construction}} to indicate to others that you are actively working on a page. Cheers, 2A03:F80:32:194:71:227:81:1 (talk) 04:20, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
