- Hello Tacyarg,
- My Purpose of edit was not promotional, I think I have given the appropriate information and references for the FLAME University. I followed the rules from Ashoka University and edited the FLAME University's Page. Please check again I think you have followed the wrong guidelines to review my edit. Ashoka University has done the same thing.
- If you found my edit promotional then why the Ashoka University is allowed for the promotion?
- Please take a look at my edit again and keep the edit as it was.
- Thanks
- Regards,

- Hi, thank you for your message. Do you work for or represent FLAME University? The issue is that you directly copied text from https://www.flame.edu.in/academics/ug. This is copyright violation and not allowed on Wikipedia. Please see Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources. I haven't looked at the article on Ashoka University, but if that contains information directly taken from the university's website, and not marked as a quotation, please feel free to remove it, or raise the issue on the article's Talk page. You might find it helpful to ask for advice at the WP:TEAHOUSE. Tacyarg (talk) 14:39, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Rahulmamtani28. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page FLAME University, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 07:37, 3 October 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [1] MrOllie (talk) 13:15, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
- It was not inappropriate link, it was an appropriate link which was about the Job Opportunities for International Students. That is the wikipedia guideline right? that you can link the appropriate references in the content and I have linked an appropriate article. The article was about the Job Opportunities for International Students in the USA. Please consider it so that I can re-add that link. Rahulmamtani28 (talk) 07:16, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- Blogs are not usable references, nor is obvious advertising. MrOllie (talk) 12:02, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
