Hi, I intended explain why in my edit summary but accidentally pressed enter twice. While the content is sourced, I don't think it's notable; it's not encyclopaedic to mention every appearance a player makes in the prose. Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 21:31, 23 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Summer Transfer Window

[edit]

Transfers do not get applied to player articles until the transfer window opens. We may write about the transfer, but we do not add it to infoboxes or the opening paragraphs until then. Walter Görlitz (talk) 22:42, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Didier Drogba

[edit]

I have reverted your edit pending a reliable source such as official club statement or media release to said squad number (not some random photo on social media). Please provide link in edit summary so that it can be verified. Thank you. LRD NO (talk) 00:22, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. It's easy to get excited with new signings, especially a legend coming back to the club. We've all been through that some way or another. LRD NO (talk) 23:35, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

re: Chelsea goalkeeper kit 14-15

[edit]

Hi,

Please read Template:Football kit which clearly states Club badges, sponsor logos, and manufacturer logos should never be included..

We are never to break any laws, this is not wikipedia own idea this is real life laws. All such content are to be removed immediately and I know one user who is now indefinately blocked after being blocked three times for adding kits with logos (last time he re-entered as a sockpuppet). It is probably his edits you have seen on other articles with logos.

These kits with logos are forcefully removed by several editors.

Please never add any kits with logos. QED237 (talk) 11:08, 12 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. I was just trying to add the goalkeeper kits to keep the page up-to-date but didn't realize I was breaching any legally-binding restrictions, so apologies. How might the 14-15 kits be added then without the logos? UnknownBrick22 (talk) 12:56, 12 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The kits have to be created without logos and it is very comlicated to create kits so unfortunately I dont know how to do it. QED237 (talk) 12:55, 12 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2014–15 F.C. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invite to the African Destubathon

[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Penalty misses

[edit]

Hi. Please note that we do not list penalty misses for regular matches like you did in this edit. I have removed it. Qed237 (talk) 11:36, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, apologies. I've noticed it in previous seasons' records so I just went with that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by UnknownBrick22 (talkcontribs)
No problem. You cant know everything and I myself definately dont know everything, there is always room for learning. There was a discussion a few years ago (2 years or something like that), to not include penaltymisses. So they are not added in "new" articles when a penaltymiss happen, but they may still exist in older articles if no one has removed them (we can not look at all previous articles, simply to many). Have a nice day. Qed237 (talk) 13:34, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to David Luiz. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Mattythewhite (talk) 21:22, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You make it sound as if my edit was the only one unsourced, but in that section there are numerous lists of honours that are not sourced as such. I will try and be careful in the future yes, but David Luiz was in the squads and celebrations of both those victorious FA Cup campaigns, so I don't see how you can remove my edits as if they were deceivingly untrue. Revert

[edit]

The only advice I can really offer is that you start a talk page discussion about your proposed edit. But if I may the Argentine Confederation stemmed from the United Provinces of the River Plate (formed from the Viceroyalty of the River Plate), which fractured into Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina. Originally given a Governor and ruled from Buenos Aires, the Spanish enclave at Puerto Soledad was later downgraded to a Presidio and was run as a penal colony for the Spanish navy - this was governed from Montevideo, which was the headquarters of the Spanish navy. Which was the precursor state is not a simple matter. WCMemail 09:44, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
